To fill this void, I suggest Collingwood trade for Jesse White the 2nd.

He does all the things they loved about the original Jesse. He's tall and massive, he runs really fast, he spent his formative years at one club only to be traded and reach his full potential at another, he's incredibly soft, he plays one good game and roughly 4 to 6 good quarters per year, but this one is 3 years younger!

Ladies and Gentlemen. Rhys Stanley.

Had plenty of the ingredients you search for in a footballer (size, power, athleticism), but it never quite all came together to be the star you might expect of somebody with those attributes. Did play some very good patches of footy, but frustration was never too far around the corner. I know it's easier to like these seductive talents when they aren't playing for your side, but always had a soft spot for seeing him do well in spite of the criticism he'd cop.
Butcher lite

All things being equal he would have been regarded as just another reasonably average player, lucky enough to have played 100+ games, and wouldn't have copped a fraction of the criticism that he has received in this thread and elsewhere.

Unfortunately for him, every once in a while he had the habit of playing a pretty good game/half/quarter and thereby tantalised fans and coaches alike that he might just turn into the player that everyone hoped he was capable of being. Consequently he was always going to repeatedly disappoint.

He was a fifth round draft pick. What do people expect?

It's classic BigFooty: where it's better to be one of the other long-forgotten spuds from that part of the 2006 draft, like...oh...any of them, besides Westhoff, than to be a guy that managed to stick around at the top level (albeit as a mediocre player) for ten years. They can't all be Hall of Famers.

Had a good season 2013 I think. Swans were just decimated by injuries. They were flying high until that loss to Port. From then on they lost momentum.

Were hurt by injuries in 2015 also. Still just fell to the dockers and kicked poorly also.

Anyway J.W had a good season, looked a good prospect but failed to deliver. Still achieved more than 99 percent of us campaigners on here so congrats to him.

How is the Jesse White retirement thread longer than the Stevie J one?

Interestingly, his best few games were in Cloke's absence last year. Make of that what you will. Either he thrived as the main target during those few games, or maybe he needed that pressure to perform. He probably got a taste of retirement when he was laid up with hamstring issues this year. Hopefully the club gives him one last taste of the big league before the year's out. A nice guy, and a good clubman from all accounts, who remained dignified in the face of constant criticism.

Apparently has an offer from an NBL team on the table
Melbourne United. He can share stories while warming the bench with former Docker Craig Moller.
