I think Jolly is a ruckman, first and foremost, and that is just what we really needed the most.

He obviously didn't have his best game today, but a) he was probably settling in and b) the dogs had two pretty vigorous and competent ruckmen, who double teamed him a bit aswell.

Give him time I reckon, don't think he'll let anyone down too much.

Lukey, ill humor you, Jolly is a ruck not a forward he has never played as a forward bar floating down for the odd goal, there is a reason for this, HE IS A RUCKMAN!!!!!

I'm certainly Jolly.

Sydney have not beaten Western Bullies since Rnd 9 2007 (with Jolly Rucking) and Jolly has not featured in the top 20 players for Sydney in the last five meeting between the two sides.

No surprise he was not outstanding today against the Bulldogs. Minson and Hudson are normally played two up on him, with Jolly taking the bulk of the ruckwork for Sydney. The last 4 matches were on large grounds, MCG, Manuka Oval and Etihad which may add some weight to the "big ground" theory.

Fraser 8 HO, Minson 10 HO.

Hardly a huge disparity.

He did his job so I'm not complaining.

Do not underestimate the big Russian....he dominated the ruck on Satday, had 30 odd hitouts and is a big lad.....Jolly will earn his keep against Jamar.

Still got first tap and majority of the time our midfielders first touches of the ball. Down on normal form yes, but he is 4x as good a player as he was today, but if hes giving our mid first use of the ball what more can you complain? Its something we haven't had since monkhurst stopped playing.

there was a few problems with him i notcied alot today...
1) centre clearance ruck duals- looking at oppo ruckman when running in to jump
2)jumping in to early clashing with oppo ruckman giving away frees for it
3)boundary throw ins- at the start was always behind the oppo ruckman holding him, but as soon as he got in front he was winning every tap

i think he will prefer the MCG more than etihad due to the fact the weather conditions, and how the turf will be more softer from the rain.
