Josh Frydenberg. Out of his depth.

Presumably. But that's irrelevant right now, given that legal action would take ages. If Frydenberg loses his seat, the accusations are moot. If he wins his seat and the Coalition retain government, he probably forgets about the whole thing and tries to ignore it (lest he creates a Streisand effect).

But If he wins his seat and the Coalition loses... then we'll potentially see fireworks. Because then all his enemies will come out of the woodwork and start leaking stories to the media in order to discredit him. So if the story is true, I'm sure we'll get confirmation
It doesn't take ages if you are an MP.

Yes. Though, I'm not sure I understand why she doesn't just come out say whatever she wants to say. Unless they required her to sign an NDA...
If you had followed the story you would know she was made to sign a NDA which is why she said what she did.

Sometimes it is best to know the full story before posting what are facts and what is questionable.

which would be pretty odd for a settlement from a government employer.
This is why this government is to be be questioned, 'why the cover up'?

FWIW, I did a quick search before posting to see if there was any specific mention of an NDA and didn't find anything in the first 3-4 articles I came across.

Subsequently I came across this;

"As with the settlement the government struck with the High Court associates who had been sexually harassed by former judge Dyson Heydon, the non-disclosure agreement will only cover the amount paid, and won’t prevent Miller from speaking about her experiences"
.

On that basis, it appears there is nothing stopping her from speaking out? If she has more to add, I really wish she would come out and say something before the election. I feel as though voters have a right to a full account of the character of the people they are voting for.

Maybe she's waiting for a more opportune moment? A week out from election day would be pretty good timing.

If there IS another minister involved... they'd be sweating bullets right now.

I think the answer to that question is pretty obvious. They covered it up because it is deeply embarrassing. The real question is why the media have let them get away with it? How many members of the media have already been briefed with damaging background material on Miller, to use in the event that she pulls the trigger on further allegations? An if so, how many of them will use that information? It's been standard operating procedure for Morrison since... forever. But as I said, the real question is why are the media so consistently complicit?

This is from the article:

But the settlement included a secrecy clause preventing the parties from disclosing the amount of the settlement sum, or any information about the amount.

Surely you jest in the first sentence?

The media knew about Porter and I imagine many other politicians. The majority of national media is Murdoch owned. The AGE has Costello at the head.

Stokes (CH7) owns media in WA. Guess who they are all backing?

The Guardian is the only one that I can recall taking on these topics

Pretty shitty reporting. They claim "it can be revealed" but provide nothing to back this up. The claims are supposedly in a 'report' but they offer nothing to prove the report exists and give no explanation how they know about it. The rest of the article is just a hit piece on Frydenberg.

What a nothing burger.
Basically taking a leaf from the Libs entire policy book since Howard.

Lie, scare people with lies, repeat lies.

Not a fan of Frydenberg and not planning on voting for him, but that piece in "True Crimes Weekly" is pretty weak sauce. They're probably hoping to get sued by Frydenberg to give them the attention they crave. If I were a legal adviser to Frydenberg, I'd be telling him to not sue because they probably don't have any money and suing over the article would simply give it oxygen while doing nothing will see it vanish into the ether.
Why not ask her yourself.

Kennett admitted in his elections he deliberately had so many issues the opposition could get leverage on individually that the oppositions focus was diluted.

ALP need to choose the issues which are working and hammer them like Abbott did

Cost of living, national security and Medicare…all linked back to scomos already negative perception

Add ICAC.
Lots of people want to see Libs in striped outfits shuffling into little cages.
I certainly do.

The look you give when you realise you're fuked!

Not a pleasant as when Chalmers was accusing him of waste rorts etc.

What’s the difference? National press club not hawthorn town hall. A man across not a woman?

Come to think of it when was the last time an actual comedian went a mother in law joke?

Who the **** gives $20 for a tooth? It's a pity Chalmers said he gave $20 too, but honestly, how out of touch are politicians? $5 is even too much.

These are the types of issues voters should vote on.

Inflation is biting across the country - and is even driving Tooth Fairy payments up.

On Friday, Treasurer Josh Frydenberg revealed that the Tooth Fairy gave his 5-year-old $20, making parents at a Victorian chamber of commerce breakfast on Thursday feel slightly guilty.

Inflation bites: Josh Frydenberg and Jim Chalmers paying $20 for the Tooth Fairy
