Can you imagine the uproar if the Bulldogs had broken their 62 year drought and they announced a Sydney Swan as the Norm Smith recipient?

Owns the one year too long thread this year but an absolute champion. One of my favourites.

Would have been an amazing inclusion if we had of lost a midfielder at some point. Unfortunately that was his only position. Would have been the best sub come finals. I think he retired at the perfect time. But I understand your opinion

How many players have registered 100 clearances and 100 tackles every year for 10 years? That's gotta be a record surely.

Always liked Kennedy. Didn't know much about him before he was traded then this bloke with massive shoulders who looked way too big to be a midfielder turned up at the Swans and started dominating. 290 games, 3 AAs, 3 B&Fs and a flag is a pretty fine career. If he ends up retiring on 293 games like Josh J Kennedy that's just weird. They each played their 100th game for their (second) clubs in the same round.

I mean I say I like him, but he's far too handsome and talented and then I saw him on TV at the Swans Brownlow count thing with his wife and just about threw the remote at the TV. He's probably a nice guy in real life too. Dick.

I've been watching the Swans regularly since the mid 90s and he was one of my faves in that time. There was 1-2 seasons near his contested beast peak when he was the most impressive player in the comp to me. Some of those games you'd watch purely for him. The way he immediately established himself in the 2010 Swans as a traded 21yo was also impressive. Also turns out I'm a very distant relation according to a recent Age article.

I also think his career stacks up well against almost all Swans in that time save maybe the following icons: Goodes, the multi-club colemans, Kelly and Kirk. The rest would really need to argue their case to eclipse him. He'll make Hall of Fame very easily.
