Haha, looks utterly ridiculous, but glitches aside the first one was pretty fun.

Played the first one. Amazing open world game. Game play battled a bit, but may have been cus i playing it on the pc.

Second one looks pretty impressive, I saw the video that RL speaks of too.

Problem I have however, the obvious one, what with the bullshit grappling hook-gun thing? they got a bit carried away didnt they? However it is a game and not every Open world RPG has to be the same.

Definite buy for me.

In the last one I think the main problem was that much of the scenery was exactly the same everywhere and the massive size of the playing area added nothing but increased travel times.

GTA is fun because, as well as being a huge map, something is going on everywhere and in the first Just Cause I found there was far to much nothing-area.

Final boxart for the game. Looks awesome.

Got my hands on a second hand copy of JC1 for 20 bucks at EB to replay it, sold my original ages ago.

Lots of memories coming back, hell old school game play with the autoaiming and blocky looking smoke, but there's no denying its a very fun game. Played it for about 5 hours straight over the weekend.

Can't wait for the new one.

Love the Antonio Banderas accent

"These guns.....they are so pow-werful"

I love climbing up some massive mountain and jumping of. Massive landscape.

I got it on PC and hated the controls. PS3 ftw for #2

Yeah the massive distances you need to travel, and the lack of a waypoint feature on the map are my main grievances...but still, old school game so can't complain.

This is the video you guys are talking about. I posted it in the other thread.

First time I've watched that video and it does look damn good fun.

The AI looks pretty shitty most of the time but that looks to be counteracted by the amount of fun stuff you can do to the enemies as well. Loved it when he tethered the enemy to the flammable canister and made it fly around on the ground while dragging the enemy.

Looks to have an absolute MASSIVE scale as well yet the graphics look absolutely brilliant too. I did see some small pop-in but that doesn't seem to be a real worry as there wasn't anything major that would break the game.

Have read that it will have all sorts of locations throughout the world as well which include desert areas, populated cities, snow capped mountains as well as jungle areas.

This one has moved up onto my will buy list now. The game does remind me a lot of Mercs 2, but I do think it has a lot more potential than that mess of a game.

After the success of video and screenshot sharing with HALO3 I'm surprised this hasn't been taken up by other games. Was great to pull off something crazy and show it off to your mates and as such it met with huge positive feedback from the gamer community.

MW2 would have been the perfect game to implement it

Saw some more vids of this game on gametrailers...looks pretty rad

I think devs are just extremely lazy with this sort of thing.

The PS3 has the possibility for Youtube uploading with EVERY game, just depends on whether the dev wants to implement it or not.

I know how much fun can be had on Uncharted 2 with just a few games that I watched back.

Can see some hilarious things happening with JC2 with some of the things you can do.

Here's a Hands-On IGN preview as well revealing some new game elements and how the game actually plays.

IGN HANDS-ON PREVIEW OF JUST CAUSE 2
When I originally enjoyed a hands-off demonstration of Just Cause 2, I was immediately hooked. With a beautiful, massive island to explore and exciting action sequences to partake in, Just Cause 2 looked like it could an extremely enjoyable (or, at the very least, stunt-heavy) third-person shooter. However, as I hadn't actually played it at the time, there was no way to know how Just Cause 2 would control and if the mechanics would live up to the sheer spectacle of the on-screen action.

I can now say with confidence that Just Cause 2 not only looks fun, but it is fun. In fact, "fun" doesn't do justice to the immense thrill of free falling off a skyscraper, parachuting over a raging waterfall and hijacking a moving convoy -- all without a single loading screen to interrupt the action. If Just Cause 2 wasn't on your radar, put it on there right quick.

Yep, this title is definitely on my radar right quick now. :thumbsu:

It looks like GTA meets Farcry meets Bionic Commando.

I just downloaded a mini-documentary from the PS3 called "The Island of Panau".

I'll update with features as it goes along.

Just Cause 2 Features

Set on an island of South East Asia called Panau.
Over 1000 square kilometers.
Real time day and night cycles.

5 different climate zones:
Artic Zone
Jungle
Wods
Desert
Tropical Beaches
Each different area has different weather effects.
If it rains your clothes get wet, if it's dusty in the desert then you'll get dust on you and snow clings onto you if you're in the mountains.

Missions can include:
Mission on land, in the air, at sea.

It's been mentioned a few times through the thread mate.

Was a good, very fun game, albeit a bit repetitive after a while and the game mechanics were pretty old school.

I've seen it second hand for like 15 bucks at EB so maybe just check it out.

"Over 1000 square kilometers."
Is that right? Doesn't seem like it is. There was this whole thing with Far Cry 2 when it came out and people mistaking it for having 2500 square kilometres when it was really 50sqkm's. Maybe it's 100sqkm's?

If it really is 1000 square kilometres....HOLY ****!

It is infact 100% correct.

The dev was like "I can't honestly tell you how big this game actually is with numbers because it's just too damn big. It's over 1000 square kilometers though".
