Don't know if this was covered but liked the huddle kick in style last night. Our kick ins have been very ordinary of late but if we can get the huddle going it will be alright. Noticed Simpson being the player getting the majority of the ball from the kick ins.
Thoughts?

Commentators on the Teev seemed to think it was more a ploy to counter North's man-on-man set-up for kick-ins, rather than some new tactic by the Blues. But I guess both are possible.

It was only because of North going man-on-man at the kick in. Wouldn't work against a zone.

Buggered if I know why teams still employ the man-on-man approach. Too easily broken down.

Surely man-on-man is better if the majority of your men are better than the ones they're playing on.

Yep, as written above, Carlton only did it to counter North's man on man kick-in defence.

The zone was brought in as a counter to the huddle, and it works tremendously well. I'd be shocked if Carlton does it again.

You could, but you are exposed badly if the ball is turned over. Fat side of the ground is wide open and we are hopelessly outnumbered. Almost certain goal.

True but we have been exposed quite badly of late from kick ins. Just hit your men on the chest and it wont be a problem..easy said than done i guess...
