Re: Lat 5 trades before lockout.

Nick Dal Santo -------> Gibbs - Saw Dal at a training session and hes bulked up so much that he can win his own ball. Gibbs had more upside i thought in the Carlton Midfield

Travis Tuck ------> Kade Simpson - Was really regretting this move til Tuck got injured. Cost me 80k

Scott Stevens ------> Joel McDonald - Remembered McDonald's performances up to his injury last year and couldnt go past him

Richo ------> Deledio - Got a small element of regret here.

Brent Harvey ------> Nathan Krakouer - Made me a tonne of cash and so far they have scored pretty similarly

and one more

Liam Anthony -------> Daniel Rich - Didnt have Rich in my side as I didnt really rate his pre-season form stats wise. But decided his spot in his team was most assured out of all.

Re: Lat 5 trades before lockout.

I swapped a mid priced centre for a mid priced back so effectively took a starting rookie from the backline and added one to the centre.

Out: Hasleby In: Robinson

Out: Suban In: Houlihan

This made my team look a lot more stable at the time, as now Raines was my 7th back rather than 6th.

So far it has turned out to be a very good move, as with Raines' injury Petrenko comes in, before the move I would have been one short.

I also swapped between Ablett and Bartel about 300 times, generally whenever I needed 5k. I also had a mini panic when the teams came out and brought Suckling in for Broughton. I realised this was a bit rash, so spent about 40mins trying to log on to change them back. Eventually did, hopefully Broughton gets a game soon.

Re: Lat 5 trades before lockout.

Hille ----> McIntosh
Lewis ----> K. Cornes
Judd -----> J. Selwood
Rich -----> Otten
Ziebell ---> Hogan

Hard to get a true reading after 2 rounds. The move to McIntosh is looking to be a good one, I'm confident Selwood will score more than Judd over the course of the season and whilst Rich looks like he'll do better than Otten, If someone said Otten will average 65-75 you'd take it

I actually stated a similar thread in another forum.

1. Gibbs to Razzle Dazzle – Well this trade occurred after the bet with LH15 was confirmed. Yes, silly to make a trade based on a bet when you really rated the player and had him as a lock from halfway through the 08 season. I love backing my players though, therefore was prepared to move Gibbs on.

2. Boak to Haselby – Was really concerned with Choco’s interview were he claimed he would be rotating many through the middle. Boak, like Gibbs was a player I nearly picked last year and really rate him as a player and dt'er. I have a feeling this one will bite me. Haze was a DT god, can he recapture 80%of his potential?

3. Fraser to Simmonds – Had Fraser locked pretty much straight away. I thought he posed some great value. I was very concerned when they rested him for the NAB final. Fraser when on field will score very well for his price.

4. Chapman to Thomas – This decision was based on 2 factors. First being I wanted some cash in the bank this year. Secondly, I just couldn’t pull the trigger. I actually believe Thomas will increase by 10 ppg even if he isn’t playing the role we saw in the last 2 NAB game/final. Watch Chappy play 22 games and average 105.

5. Bartel to Masten to Kornes – This all occurred early in the piece to be honest. Kornes was too good for value. But Masten was someone I rated and believe will score very well for his price. Couldn't justify the Gaz / Bartel combo although don't mind the strategy at all.

Clearly the Thomas and Simmonds selections are hurting right about now...

Suban -> Broughton

Suban obviously in front, but it's not one I'm worried about. Hopefully Broughton takes his chance, scores well and proves to be a good cash cow.

Didak -> Giansiracusa

Not much in it at the moment. I think both will average within two or three points of each other so I'm not worried about this one either.

The next three were pretty much one 'super trade' which really didn't work out well at all.

McIntosh -> Hille

Couldn't see McIntosh maintaining an 80 average, so I went with the best two ruckmen from last year. Hasn't worked out all that well but I think Hille's average will rise substantially over the course of the season.

Mackay -> Butler

Hasn't worked out at all. Was sucked in by Butler's game against Hawthorn and he's seemingly disappeared since round one. Traded him this week to Robinson. Mackay looks like being a nice little earner as well.

Vince -> Reilly

This one's easily the worst of the lot. Read that Vince would be spending most of the season in the middle but still decided on going with Reilly. Two weeks in and Vince is averaging 100 while Reilly was traded out this week for Boyd.

Had to be aggressive with trading this week. Am already way behind the eight-ball so any decisions made now need to be right.

Only remember 1. It happened because i saw the teams for round 1 and subsequently changed Beams to Ziebell.

I have every intention of bringing Beams back in next week.

But its not Ziebell im dropping him for, so not a complete balls up.

Marty Clarke -> Jed Adcock

Got cold feet about Clarke and jumped on the Adcock bandwagon. Worked out shit until tonight :)

Cale Morton -> Chris Masten

uh oh... i made a booboo

Newman -> Buckley

uh oh... another boo boo

S Johnson -> Pavlich

ah poop... another boo boo

Haselby -> Tuck

it was a winner until rd 2.
then another boo boo

I can't remember what my last 5 changes before the original lockout - but as a variation the following 4 were the ones I was going to do but couldn't because of the usual log jam.

Krakouer->Hetschel (missed out luckily there)
Goodwin->Giansiracusa (would have been a little ahead)
Broughton->Petrenko - would have been nice (although Broughton in now)
Cook->Ziebell - would have been nice, but in hindsight would have been different choice (Robinson/Beams)

So, in the end came out of it ok.

Re: Lat 5 trades before lockout.

J. Meeson -> A. Browne
D. Cox -> B. Ottens (****)
P. Hasleby -> D. Kerr
T. Swift -> D. Beams
S. Johnson -> B. Harvey (****)
D. Swan -> G. Ablett

I thought I'd bump this thread cause its a pretty interesting read.

On topic the last two years I have been incredibly flukey and lucky with my final selections. Last year the last man into my team was none other than Gary Ablett jr. In hindsight it was a brilliant choice. This year my last three trades were...

Malceski to Mundy :thumbsu:
Cloke to Thomas
J. Brown to N. Brown

These were my last 6 trades before lockout:

Adcock > Petrenko = Loss (put S. Hill onto the field however allowed for remaining 5 changes)

Ottens > McIntosh = Win (Thank f@#k for this trade)

Hentschell > M. Brown = Win (See above comment)

Beams > Gibbs = Win (Had Beams starting along with Rich/Otten which would have been disastrous)

Pavlich > Gia = Neither (Slightly concerned with Pav's preseason and although he has scored slightly more at this point in time things could change, this also allowed the final trade to occur)

Broughton > Suban = Win (Has provided adequate cover for injuries so far and a semi-decent cash cow)

Minutes before lockout I had a change of heart over Gia and went to trade him to Didak but the site crashed, in hindsight it was a blessing in disguise. Overall very happy with my final 6 trades.

Good thread.

My last few changes before lockout were:
PBurgoyne > Fisher (fairly even till now; Burger has higher average but missed 2 games)

Broughton > Suckling (fail, will probably have to trade Suckling back to Broughton this week to cover backline injuries)

Rich > Ziebell (fairly even; similar average, although Z has made 25K more but Rich has played an extra game)

Graham > Jacobs (fail)
