This is great news!

Cloke seems to have recovered really well from the same surgey which is very promising!

Just trade him out of your SC team

Needed to put his body in a little harder.

and you can't hijack this post with such a subtle deflection.

Rip it up Walker as we would love to see you from round 12 onwards.

well put :thumbsu:

Now folks back on topic please ;)

Great news :thumbsu:

So we now have Walker & Warnock possibly coming into contention heading into finals footy.

Add them, one of Yarran/Gartlett, and Fev who was made to play finals footy, and I'm pretty much expecting us to bow out first week after a non-exciting game*

*Now lets just make sure we get there

awesome news, some very encouraging quotes coming from him aswell

I like this one :)

"This stupid right shoulder of mine, it just wouldn't stay in, but the surgeon has told me that you'd basically need a tractor to pull the thing out now," Walker says.

We haven't missed Walker much (if at all) this season IMHO, certainly I don't think having him out there would have made a difference against the Bombers, Swans or Hawks..

Not one of my favourites I'm afraid (I've always felt he has been an chronic under-achiever, and that sometimes his attitude leaves a bit to be desired, certainly he has to learn to kick better IMHO)

Playing Sydney are we?:confused::p

Fantastic news! :thumbsu::thumbsu:

I've always seen the enormous potential in this guy, which is exciting enough as it is, but even now I feel he is valuable to the side with his versatility, X factor and speed and endurance that rivals or betters that of even Chris Judd :thumbsu:

Still I hope they don't be too hasty and so hopefully he can get used to the shoulder and get some strength into it. Even if we have to wait until next year, I'm patient because I hope to see him finally free of this injury :)

Ohh shutup, are you ever positive?

Why do u support Sentanta 100%, who couldn't find his arse with both hands, even if his fingers were flashlights, and don't suport Walker? His easily top 10 when fit and firing.

You just gave him exactly what he was fishing for with his post. Just ignore him.

For pete's sake ...
For a player of a no 2 draft pick status, and one who has shown glimpses of his brilliance (not enough IMHO) I have been dissapointed with Walker's career thus far, fair enough he's had some terrible problems with his shoulder, but there is no way that you can say that he is on an 'elite' level like Judd or Murphy, or Gibbs etc ..
Consistency is the key for Walker (and yes I am aware that injuries have played a part in this) it appears for every decent game Walker plays, he puts in 2-3 quiet/ordinary ones afterwards (IMHO)

And I am still convinced he really needs to improve his kicking as well, if he is ever going to reach the 'elite' level like we all thought he would be ...

Now, where is the 'negativity' in that ??? I am just giving my honest opinion, and btw, you are very harsh and unfair with ur comments about Carlos BTW.

???? Are you serious?

Great news. Sounds like the surgery has gone well for Tex, and he's not too stiff.

I've been wondering about the restricted movement and whether this will cause a re-think as to his position. I've always seen AW as our future wingman, but recently the MC seems to like him around half forward or as a small CHF. Is this op going to effect his overhead marking ability?

I think his performance last year against Port Power at Jihad Stadium (and yes I'm aware Port were tanking bigtime at that point in time) showed to me that Walker is at his most damaging playing on the half-foward flank, pushing up deep into the foward line ...
If he can improve his kicking and work-rate (as well as stay injury free) he could honestly be very, very special, but still lets hope he can have a full and healthy recovery.

Your continued negative posts are becoming so boring, if you think back he first damaged his shoulder almost two years ago, at that time he was around 20-21 and just starting to play good consistent footy, whilst Walker may not go all the way to being a geninue A grade player if he can get over this injury he will be a real quality player for our side and they are hard to find.
No one seriously puts him in the same bracket as Judd, and to a lesser extent Murphy and Gibbs but with some luck he will be a major boost to our team.

Walkers draft was pretty weak. If it were redone now I'd still take him at 2

I'm as one eyed a Walker fan there is. That cat in my avatar is perched above PP ready to knock of anybody who tries to poach Walker...

...that said though, being as objective as I can, it'd be pretty hard to pass up Sam Fisher who was taken at 55 in that draft.

*Bump*

Excellent news ........

Walker is set to return this Sunday in the VFL game against Nth Ballarat at Visy park.

Wishing Andy all the best & can't wait to have him back in the seniors :thumbsu: :)

Andrew Walker has confirmed that he plans to return to football this Sunday in the Northern Bullants game against North Ballarat at Visy Park. Walker admitted he was anxious about the game after two ‘comebacks’ from shoulder surgery, but said he was confident of a successful return following the latest operation that was different to the previous surgery.

Walker was happy to talk about his return to football and hopes to play between two and three quarters as he eases his way back and is looking to get early from and wear the navy blue in a few weeks time. He was also not making any bold predictions saying he is keen to go about his return quietly after previously speaking to the media about a return to playing and both times re-injuring his shoulder. He thought it was better karma this time to just get out and play and see how he goes.
