LeCras because he is capable playing on ball.

But I don't think you will find a more dangerous midsized forward than Stevie J. His style is really entertaining.

Two fantastic players hard to split. I just reckon we still haven't even seen the best out of Lecras yet and yet he's just so incredibly dangerous. The great thing about Lecras is he never wastes his opportunities and that's probably the most important attribute for a small forward (he could easily be a gun midfielder too and I think he will be at some point). Johnson really is a great mercurial player that can turn a game on its head, can do it all, the only reason I didn't vote him is that the gap between his best and his worst is bigger than Lecras.

LeCras every day, if only for character reasons - He makes better decisions on field, including the decision not to play for free kicks.

I love watching Stevie J, and he's an absolute freak when it comes to what he's capable of, but sometimes the things he does on a footy field make me cringe. Some of the dives (he's patented the move of running towards the ball, then stopping sharply and throwing himself to the ground when contact is make from behind) and the boneheaded plays (like running into the man on the mark on Friday night) are too much for me to pick him over another gun in LeCras.

Johnson has more talent than LeCras, but LeCras manages to be equally effective because he plays the game more professionally and intelligently.

Honestly trying not to be biased here, but I'd take LeCras in my football club any day.

I've ALWAYS loved Stevie J. He's amazing to watch and can be so dangerous. But I think it boils down to entertainment, Stevie J is entertaining as all hell, but can make some really dumb decisions and is really inconsistent..

LeCras seems to never make a mistake, he doesnt look as flashy as Stevie J but he's twice as effective. Whenever he gets the ball, as a West Coast supporter you always think 'yes, LeCras has it', because he always, and I say always uses it as well as the situation permits. His kicking is ridiculously accurate and there's more to come from the man in time I think..

Take my words with a grain of salt though, being a West Perth and West Coast supporter :p

Johnson has been ultra-consistent this year and frankly it seems people are judging him on a few non-football related criteria at the moment. He's actually having a fantastic season, including against quality opposition both through the midfield and up forward.

Was it a different Steve Johnson that ran straight into the man on the mark on Friday night?

I mean, the fact that Selwood didn't stick the tackle flattered Johnson, but it was a totally boneheaded decision.

I actually reckon that this is a really hard poll to pick. Stevie J is an absolute Gun, has shown he can play in the middle and can do just about anything with a footy. Le Cras could be aquality mid, is an absolute gun forward and is class personified.

I'd probably take Johnson just, purely because he has performed on the biggest stage, but geez, you are plucking things to try and seperate them.

Are you sure you bolded the right part, because I can't see how that responds in any way to his consistency across the entire season?

It's part of his charm.

He makes the impossible look easy and the easy into major LOLz.

Both have had more time in the middle this year and performed well so that doesn't make it any easier to split them. Johnson has starred on the big stage, while LeCras has been AA despite being in a wooden spoon team that year. The clincher is LeCras' accuracy in front of goal.

They both have the ability to play forward and through the midfield and are beautiful users of the ball, the other forwards must salivate when they get the ball outside 50. Stevie J is the more mercurial and more likely to turn a game on its head but would be unlikely to be AA in a down season because if he was the main focus of the opposition his temper may get the better of him. They both can be hogs at times but that comes with the territory.

Lecras does have a look at the umpire when he is being held (which is often) but doesn't go to ground looking for the free kick. Lecras has not been tested on the big stage yet very often and for that reason I would go with Stevie J but obviously could change in the future if Lecca has some big finals games.

I am not going with my bias as a West Coast and West Perth Supporter it is close but the finals performances (not team success) swung it Stevie J's way.

BTW I doubt Woosha would accept the extent to which Stevie J accentuates contact to get frees.

I agree & I am far from a wc supporter.
Johnson better in the midfield, but he does too many silly things & plays for frees too much.
Having said that, it makes him more watchable & "Cletus" is one of my faves 2 watch.

Stevie J for me.

This will no doubt be unpopular- Stevie is sometimes called selfish, but watching Lecras torch his teammates and take ridiculous shots on goal nearly every week is infuriating. He's amazing when he's on song, but when off his selfishness is nearly at Daniel Motlop proportions.
