I don't really see that Macron are any worse than whoever else we'd get.

the AFL has gone backwards so much over the past 25-30 years in regards to kit suppliers.

from Nike and adidas to Cotton On, O’Neill’s & Macron.

Macron are one of the biggest in the world though to be fair. They may be shit, but they are one of the main players in the industry.

Is what Puma are doing for AFL clubs clearly better than what Macron are doing? Or when people think Puma do they think Man City and assume we'd get a similar treatment?

Would we get Puma anyway? We're taking the highest bidder so we're probably just as likely to get some bullshit temuesque brand. Macron are at least a global apparel brand who sponsor a ton of major sporting organisations and clubs.

Yeah, just their apparel blows

I don't think an AFL club has gotten particularly good apparel in, as you say, 2 decades, and tbh apart from a guernsey and maybe a big jacket, i'm probably not getting the manufacturer branded apparel anyway.

I don't really notice any difference in merchandise quality between all the clubs and various brands.

Our Reebok stuff seemed the worst to me. Macron is better than that stuff and no worse than ISC.

Yes, absolutely, no one really thinks that we will get the same treatment as Man City, and I, for one, am certainly not expecting that.

However, what Macron has offered over the years is crap, imo. Yes, I'm not discounting that Macron is a global apparel brand that creates apparel for top teams across the globe, but their appeal is uncomfortable af, some of their training tops are as heat resistant as an ice cream sitting outside in the sun on a 40 degree day. I haven't purchased anything from the club since the pink coral training top that they made in 2021. Read the comments of people complaining about Macron in this and the Port Store thread products they make.

I say Puma because they have a reasonable foothold in our game and make half-discreet appeal compared to Macron.
