so he's 17 and a half and he's playing under 17s
is the footy rules that under 17 is everyone who hasn't turned 18 yet or something?
just trying to work out how he can be eligible for under 17s

He was probably 17 or under on January 1st this year.

Cappy - u18s are much better, 19s are a ghost league, and it will also save money combining the two. also, it should mean all 3 games are played on the same day which can only be a good thing, hopefully the familys hang around and put money back into the club. The crowd should also be boosted because of this. A lot of North fans are very keen on u18s.

I guess if you playing u/19's your screwed.... unless your under 18

Yep if you are playing 19s and not good enough for ressies you will play amateur footy. The talented lads go from 17s to Ressies anyway.

Usually there's a stepping stone of a couple of weeks for even the ultra talented ones.

But there's plenty of footballers who go on to greater things who spend a long time plodding about in Under 19s, considering Messrs Smart, Burton and Wundke among them.

There are always exceptions to every rule but the majority of 19 players don't do much.

well my cousin who plays for norwood he was 17 I think he played two games at u19 level whilst 17 then moved straight to ressise now he's in the league side.

I must say it weird watching the telly and hearing his name called out..... well my last name called out!

Apparently a fairly good player - very mobile tall. Crows reportedly very keen on him - possibly even first round pick!!



Played 3 games for the North reserves before doing his shoulder, and kicked 10 goals.

Can play key forward, key back or even midfield.

Has been invited to the draft camp, so there is plenty of interest! (Carlton rate him very highly).
