Giants ahead by 8 at quarter time. 3.624 to 2.4.16. Good work by us, but we were all even pretty much last week V Sydney but dropped away massively later in the game. Hopefully we can put in a 4 quarter performance

Lions did very well that quarter. Giants shot out to a 19 point lead early on but Lions fought back to a lead as high as 22.

Lions 9.11.65
Giants 7.7.49

Lions over the line by 15. 14.17.101 to 12.14.86. But fantastic work by the Giants today. Best game over the last 3 weeks. Glad to see the Giants didnt drop away in the 2nd half like last week. Good game

Josh Green played a good game for the Lions today. Has to get a senior game soon. Andrew Phillips impressed big time for the Giants today

thanks TBD - much appreciated by those who can't get to every game. :)

maybe vossys been holding him off for next week, with browny back it will definitley bring out the best in him. Bringing young players in too early can really damage their confidence if they have a poor game

Went along yesterday and i can see why everyone is calling for Green to be elevated

You would think green would be a shoe in. However i would say the coaching staff won't want to play too many kids so i would expect probably Raines and Buchanan to come in with some experience.

At least I have seen us win a few games year! GWS were better than I thought. Looking at the other division the Sydney Swans seconds look like the best team by a mile.

At the game. Impressed by Green, Collier and Hawksley who dominated their part of the field, esp in second half. In fact, Collier and Hawksley played the best I've seen them do in the firsts. If only they could repeat that confidencein the big time.

Disappointed by McCauley though. He was completely outgunned by Giants 27 ruckman Andrew Phillips.
Karnezis, McCullough, Buchanan, Polec didn't impose themselves on the game as they needed to do to get a firsts spot.
Golby did some good things though, as did 51 Parkes, but he's a top up player.

GWS has knocked off last year's premiers and is undefeated against non-Swans teams (2-0), but the Swans handed them their arse on a platter in both games they've played so far. Swans definitely look to be the best team but they also have Seaby, Currie and Pyke playing reserves which generally gives them too much tall timber for amateurs and kids to match up on.

GWS were really good against our reserves in Canberra two weekends ago. Their forward pressure and structure really caused our reserves some problems and the score was quite close up till three quarter time. In the last quarter our bigger bodies and more experience told out and we won by 40 points which was very flattering to us. What we learnt from this game was that GWS are a very well drilled side and have improved since we last played them about 5 weeks prior.

GC Reserves on the other hand, didn't have any semblance of structure (despite their talent on show) and it showed, we smashed them by 92 points on Saturday. Most players didn't seem to have an idea of what role they were supposed to be doing, just looked like a bunch of athletic, highly-skilled kids running around. It didn't help that their coaching staff were trying a few different things, like playing Bennell at FB on Trent Dennis-Lane.

How has Proud been going for whichever team he's playing for? Would probably be handy ATM if fit. Any chance to be picked up at the end of the year?

Been playing really well for Mt Gravatt. His intensity around the contest is of such a higher standard it's not funny.

Would be suprised if he got picked up given his past indiscretions. However, I do know that Mark Williams was a big fan prior to Proud being drafted.

I agree TLL. I think GWS is probably his best bet and they will get a chance to have a decent look at him in the NEAFL this year.

Proud's still technically on our list, isn't he? (you know where I'm going with this...)

Better than Hooper has been going for Broadbeach;)

When thinking about Rhan, what do they say, 'A Leopard never changes his stripes', or was it "A tiger doesn't change his spots'??:p

Either way about Rhan, you get the drift.

Hope Albert can turn it around.

No - he's a rookie, we would have to upgrade him to get any currency and I reckon no one is going to actually trade anything for him.

Don't think there is anything in it for us.

There wouldn't be anything "traded", as such, if it was the AFL giving us a compo pick on GWS' behalf...but does it count off the rookie list...?

Extraordinarily long shot at best, but I'm just curious.

Proud is a gun. Keep in mind he captained that famous QLD u18 team with Tippett, Urquart, Armitage, Renouf etc, the list goes on. Was a high draft pick and easily top 5 player in the NEAFL this year. Could well win the Grogan and deserves another shot in the big league.

I think hes matured and hasnt put a foot wrong with the Vultures. Has banned himself from alcohol entirely which is where his problems instigated from.

Dont be suprised to see a Power/Kangaroos type team pick him up. He wont be at a QLD club unfortunetly but could be the 2012 'Andrew Krakouer'.
