Jolly is someone I have watched for a fair while, brother was around the same year as his when he got drafted.

Not sure what went wrong, or if anything particularly has tbh. Has fantastic skills, could be a very good player.

Will we pick him up? I would think he will either be at the Gold Coast, or one of the two SA Teams next year.

Can't see him being on a main list tbh, probably a Rookie but he would be a 'First Rounder' Rookie selection imo.

A real inside mid, really good decision maker.

I havn't been able to see too much of him this year, nor hear so much but at a wild guess I imagine he may have fallen into the 'Too Much, Too Young' category. Was picked up as a 17 Year Old and reckon it may have taken its toll.

Bring him back to SA, bring him back to Glenelg and I can see him getting back to where he was - and be promoted onto a main list at the first opportunity.

Talented guy, was the U/17 Australian Beach Volleyball Champ (Sorry, but I think Sellar was aswell haha) and awarded SA's best player at the under-16 national champs.

If he's delisted it would probably be worth just chucking him on the main list to avoid that draft nonsense so he can start training sooner.

Jolly was highly rated and played quite well last year. He is a strong mid with good skills. The question is, 'What the $#&^$@ has happened to him this year? No idea. He is struggling to get a game for their reserves? If only we had an obsessive Port supporter with links to Glenelg! I would be happy if he got a one year contract on the main list.

Lazy lazy lazy. I'd be happy to use a late rookie pick on him, but nothing more.

Hrm, so thats the story?

I remember him playing for gold coast last year. Seemed a bit overweight tbh but definitely showed some skill

My guess would be a lack of discipline. Which can be changed

Lazy seems to keep cropping up with Jolly. I must have seen one of his good games. He reminded me a bit of Jack Redden who is the opposite of lazy. He got 98 super coach points in his third game. I read somewhere that GWS spent much more $ on player welfare than Gold Coast. Too much too young. The specials. One to watch.

He probably wasn't ready to move states and everything at 17 and then all the pressure to train and perform with expectations probably put him in a bad frame of mind would be worth bringing him home

Honestly, most of the Gold Coast side is lazy. McKenna seems to have failed to instill any motivation in them at all. Maybe getting traded to a team which actually wins the occasional game might be what Jolly needs to give him a kick up the arse.

If we had the opportunity to pick up a teenager as talented as he is on the cheap due to him having the same attitude problem that half of the GC list has, it's definitely worth the risk.

JUST 24 hours after Geelong's Daniel Menzel tore his ACL in his return from a serious injury in the VFL, younger brother Troy shone with nine goals for South Australia at under-18 level.

He has played a number of games at senior SANFL level for Central District this season and has held his own.

Boasting nine AIS/AFL Academy players, South Australia's crisp ball movement, hard spread and overlap run, and overall polish emphasised the difference in class between the two states.

Highly rated draft prospects Ben Kennedy (37 touches and four goals), Jimmy Toumpas (34) and Brody Grundy (20 possessions, 26 hit-outs and three goals) were all outstanding.

Salivating over the elite South Aussie talent on offer this year. No matter how many games we win from here on in we should definitely get a crack at one of them.

if we keep winning, i dont think there will be much chance of us landing a Grundy or Toumpas.

Kennedy would be around the mark I would say and i would not be at all upset if we pick him up. Will be a very good midfielder.

No doubt the same thing will happen as in 02.
Please explain. Salopek and Gilham draft? There doesn't seem to be any good SA players from that year?

The four picks before our Gilham pick were the four SA players we were likely to draft. Jay Schulz was one of them btw.

Warming to the idea of trying to get Lindsay Thomas back to Alberton. Has a clear issue with the yips which will lower his trade value and if we can fix it we'll have a valuable player, if not, the magpies will be much stronger. Win-win IMO.

Yeah really like Lindsay...he is the sort of energetic small forward / goal sneak we are missing
Is he a free agent?

Can we get Nahas too? :)

Milera would have been handy! I wonder why we didn't like!

one that was talked up pre-champs a bit by chris25 was sam coluqoun. has been smashing in his games for sa. high possesions, and a great kick. that last bit i like very very much. chris and knightmare seem to have him around the 2nd round.
