There's a 'redo the 2010 draft' thread on the Drafts and Trading board. I don't think Jacobs has been mentioned in the top 20 once. And rightly so.

You honestly think that Jacobs still deserved to be a top 20 draft pick after what he's shown in the last two years? If you do, then you can't be complaining about other people's bias.

I'm at the point where I hope he goes. Not because I necessarily think we'll get someone better for him, but just because I have no desire to see him in a Port jumper ever again.

Given how low the Geelong supporters valued Boak, Jacobs would be lucky to fill the last spot on their rookie list!

If Jacobs wants to go, so be it. We're better off letting him go and not trying to keep him as his attitude will probably stink. Also, it's better to not have players that quit when the going gets tough.

i reckon jacobs has shown he could be quite a fine inside midfielder. is still young. ild like to see him decide to stay. if not we have options, is in no position to walk to the club of his choice, we will have the option to get another young sa kid or an ok pick.

Not sure you can use a BF thread re-doing the 2010 draft as evidence for Jacobs' fall down the pecking order, GP.

Many of the posters would have seen the likes of Harper and Smith running around in winning teams and would be quickly seduced.

Jacobs has had the ultimate baptism of fire. Terribly interrupted first year preparation, then thrown into a rabble of a defence at a time when we were getting belted. Thought he looked good for about a month this year, when played further up the wing. Then probably started feeling his injury and was gradually eased back to sub and then SANFL.

I don't know about the kid's loyalty but at present he would be concerned with his development trajectory based on looking around his teammates and seeing the lack of rapid development by other early draft picks. Hartlett is still a fair way from being where we might have expected. Moore, Pittard and Butcher have hardly got out of the starting blocks in their careers after three years. Lobbe looks a long way off from a first round draft pick. He's a hard worker evidently and possibly looks around and sees a lot of slackers who aren't prepared to dig deep on the training track.

I would prefer him to stay and would only accept his departure unless the ensuing trade values him as the equivlent of where we took him. Then you could make a case that it gives a good opportunity to address our needs properly in the draft market again.

Left footed, longer kicking version of Matt Thomas IMHO. In a similar boat to Lycett on this board, where he seems to be a tad overrated due to where he was drafted from.

the levi greenwood rumours are very true.

If Jacobs holds firm and wants to go home expect him to be the trade.

im not convinced port are desperate enough for him to make a lopsided trade. They will try and it North plays hardball he will stay there and we will go again in 2013 trade period. The view is he can play Kane Cornes role in 2014 onwards I believe......
