Re: Matthew Loyd Gone

Wait, Campbell Brown said that taking out players is 'not on'?

Is he ****ing serious, or does he just enjoy being a raging hypocrite?

It's not on if they are Australian.

If they are Irish, it's a different case altogether :D

Re: Matthew Loyd Gone

Watch the replay in it's entirity.
It's people like you, like hysterical teenage girls, who totally over-react to everything.
He came from about 10 metres away, not at full pace, was made to change direction by his Dawks opponent, and clumsily collided with Sewell. He didn't line anyone up, and actually did well not to knock himself out.

Now we all know Buddy was hardly done by... but FFS get over it!

You are a history revisionist in the mould of sunny gavaskar...

He accelerated in at the siren from the point of the square an made a b line straight for a hawks player in the contest. THe hand by schoenmakers had minimal influence .

Lloyd himself started to change direction when he realised how bad it was going to look.

If you can compare a front on charge to a guy with his head over the ball to a side on bump then you need help.

Your suggestion that he was lucky not to knock himself out is laughable...

I was more thinking 'unsociable football', but I suppose that works as well.

Yeah, I was in a state of shock when I heard his comments. His memory must be absolutely ****ing shot if he can't remember the following two incidents:

2004 - 4 weeks for striking Jason Winderlich.
2005 - 4 weeks for striking Matthew Lloyd

The Winderlich strike was a disgrace.

well, your user name is appropriate...

Re: Matthew Loyd Gone

Firstly, it's "overrated IN my books".

Secondly, it's "you're" and not "your".

EDIT:

Sevently, please, no text speak like "STFU". BigFooty.com has the added benefit of not being pay-per-letter. Feel free to use proper English. Judging by what I've seen so far, you may struggle though.

Oh, but you were trying so hard!!

Hahaha. I'll pay that. In fairness, there is a difference between a typo and sloppy grammar though.

Is there any footage on YouTube of the bump and the brawl?

Just found it.

Sorry, I forgot the following:

2004 - 2 weeks for striking Brett Montgomery
2007 - 2 weeks for striking Lynden Dunn

...and then there's also the 2 weeks he copped for cannoning into a first gamer (Kreuzer) last year. Anything else? Jeez - there's the tribunal record of a clean and fair player that can call someone else a sniper without looking like a laughable hypocrite

Any chance you can think up something better than Dawks, you superstar?

Yeah, the views of Hawthorn and Essendon supporters are meaningful in this debate. Could some of the Hawks supporters get any more hysterical and biased? I can imagine how high pitched some of them are at their keyboards.

As opposed to what he should have done which was to wait for the ball to come to him and then when poor innocent bambi Sewell lowered his head to jump out of the way to let the poor gentle creature out of the way. Note to all future Hawks opponents be gentle on Sewell and the rest they are such delicate creatures.

If he's such a big thug sniper why didn't he belt everyone in sight?

Because they were actually looking at him at the time. That's why he is considered a coward. Only nails someone when they don't expect it......or he's wearing an armguard.

I just watched a replay of the whole incident. WTF are the Hawks fans on about saying Lloyd ran away from the brawl? He was right in the middle of it you blind twats. If you're gonna criticise someone, at least do it with some basis of fact.

Re: Matthew Loyd Gone

Carey might get ranked in the top 10 of all-time, but, to say he was the best ever is a very long bow to stretch!

In terms of the modern era, Carey would be ranked equal with Hird, Buckley, Voss, Harvey etc.

You belong in the corner wearing a funny hat.

Carey is and was far superior to those guys.

This must be a joke, giving you the benefit of the doubt that you're not that stupid. If you are, please explain.... would be very interesting to see how you can spin this.
What do I need to spin? I called it as I saw it.. The only question is ..should Loyd have pulled out from the contest? As a coach I would be disappointed if he did.

PS. Thanks for the benefit of your doubt.:thumbsu:

If any of you overweight internet nerds ever played football, you'd understand that in a situation like that all you can do is brace yourself. Lloyd is a much bigger body, so the law of physics or some shit like that decreed that Sewell got knocked the **** out.

What do you expect him to do at that speed and with that little time to react? Pull out? Didn't think so.

Footage of Kennett too please.

There is a reason he was moving at the speed. It's because he came charging in off the square in an attempt to nail someone.

Weak as piss. Head over the ball and charged straight into him.

I'm sure the doctors can do something about your attention span. Lloyd extracted himself and bolted as quickly as he could.

I reckon Loyd has nothing to answer for. Loyd ran in a straight line, didn't lift the elbow or his body off the grd, eyes forward.

Agree.

And if you add the slight push into Sewell then there shouldn't be any surprise if he gets off.

Personally I didn't want him to play today and I don't really care about him next week as I think we should move forward with Neagle and Hurley so my rose coloured glasses aren't on this one.
