With so many to choose from and so many putting up some good names, stats and video links thought it would be good to do a top 5 or 10 on the shopping list for the AFC in the draft and then the rookie draft.

Put up names you think might be there at 27 as with any draft there are sliders and ones that bolt. Add any that you think we should rook. Is it 6 spots we have on the rook draft?? Is Callinan the only one on it still?

There have been some real good suggestions and frankly its getting hard to go back through 60 pages.

Your list can be in any order but maybe put a little chaser of info after each name eg

Hayden Crozier 185 cm, jumping freak, video link etc

Feel free to add and delete as the draft gets closer would be interesting to see how close we think we can get to picking any that Rendell might have squirrelled away.

Will get back to you on mine as I've got some list to complile.

What about Sam Martyn? Is he on the rookie list or is it different as he was an NSW Scholarship signing?

He's still on the rookie list, but as an ex-scholarship player his position is additional to our normal quota of rookies.

Rookie Draft 6 Picks Total:

Re-Rookie Young

Re-Rookie Callinan

Tim McIntyre (apparently the club has some interest)
http://www.sturtfc.com.au/personnel/tim-mcintyre

Anthony Tipungwudi-
Tip plays similarly to Woenaeamirri. Oozes talent but has a strong connection with the Tiwi Islands may mean that he could be prone to periods of homesickness. That being said I think our club could be one of the best place for young indigenous players, we have exceptional support networks and more Indigneous players than most so he could receive support from players who have and similar experiences. Skills are all great, uses both feet. Good goal sense. Lacks fitness but is deceptively quick. High risk/right reward prospect, think of a harder working Tim Milera. If a club can keep him motivated he could be a very special player.

From 0:56

Steve Rusca
http://www.afl.com.au/News/NEWSARTICLE/tabid/208/Default.aspx?newsId=123420

Taite Silverlock (delisted by Essendon)-
appears to be light on his feet, little bit of a Symes "up and under" kicking style (but that can be worked on), reasonable footy IQ. Generally seems to be an interesting prospect.

For the remaining spots:
Brad Dick, John McCarthy, Justin Bollenhagen, Marc Lock, Addam Maric, Austin Wonaeamirri, Gavin Urquhart, Daniel Currie and Byron Sumner would all be of interest to me. Would maybe take 1 or 2 out of that group.

Overall, there are quailty players to be had throughout the draft. If I read between the lines the major issue for recruiters is that most of the players past about the top 30 lack polish or have motivational issues, the raw ability is there for some of these players its just something is missing. There will be steals in some of the later rounds and I think some of them could be these players mentioned.

I subscribe to the Darren Pfeiffer third time lucky adage. Am I just being bias being a Norwood man or has he grown older and wiser and would embrace another chance ?

Thanks for that, PyroCrow.
Dobosz looks like a very interesting player. Key forward definitely isn't an immediate need, but I like the look of him.

I'll be disappointed if Spurr makes it through to our third pick and we don't take him. I really rate him as an AFL standard payer.

As much as it pains me to say it, I rate Spurr and if he is available at our second pick, take him.

Dobosz can play as a 3rd tall and on the wing for short bursts as well. It may not be an immediate need but I think that we need to go into the draft with the mindset of drafting the best available whatever the position. If Dobosz falls into the 2nd Round I would take him without hesitation, could easily develop into a better forward than Lynch and we wouldn't have to worry about any "go home factor". He still has a fair bit to work on but he has made huge strides already. I wouldn't want to be one of the teams that passes him up because if he continues along his current development path they might regret it.

IMO he is worth it but I don't think we'll need to spend that much to get him. I reckon he will be available at our 3rd round pick (pick 64).

Can't help but laugh whenever I see that highlights package of Waldhuter. The guy is an absolute maniac! :D

Forget 2nd and 3rd efforts...he gives 4th's and 5th's.:thumbsu:

On the Waldhunter train:thumbsu: In that highlight package he made more tackles that stuck than most of our seniors did! Think of Aidan Riley and him in the same team!:eek::eek:

But what if he and Dangerfield ever went for the same ball? Im betting a blackhole would form and consume the planet.

Awesome work PC :thumbsu::thumbsu:
convinced with Waldhunter sign that mofo up!!!

Agree completely. Regardless we should have a lot of quality to choose from in all areas of the draft. As I said before, the raw talent is there with a lot of these kids it is just going to be up to the clubs to help them find that missing something. For e.g. if Waldhuter averaged about 5 more disposals or was slightly more effective by foot he would be a top 15 pick easily. There will be bargains to be had in all rounds but most of the players coming out of this draft will struggle to make an impact in their 1st seasons.

FWIW this would be my dream senario for the AFC's draft selections:

ND-
Pick 27 - Mckenzie
Pick 41- Dobosz
Pick 46- Waldhuter
Pick 64- Clarke

RD-
1. Rerookie Young
2. Rerookie Callinan
3. John McCarthy
4. Marc Lock
5. Gibson Turner
6. Anthony Tipungwudi

Unfortunately this will not happen but I can dream cant I?

If half of this happened we would be in a very strong position going forward. Rendell and the team haven't done too badly so far and YWT that all of these names would be on a whiteboard somewhere at the Westpac Centre.

Still would like to see Pfeiffer and Murdock on the rookie list.

Insert (Wild eyed and crazy look)Who else can we delist??;)

Delist Symes and Reilly and replace them with Pfeiffer/Spurr and a ruck prospect:thumbsu:
