Overall I assume it will strengthen the hawks team but I still don’t rate Barrass as a stopper. If it was Barrass vs frost to man up Larkey I’d be praying for Barrass.

Decent interceptor no doubt

Battle is kind of the same but a level or two down.

I can only go off what I’ve seen.

Larkey has got hold of west coast in recent years and the only 2 games he’s been held were when hurn and McGovern played on him.

I don’t consider larkey a strong body on body player but some his numerous goals against the eagles came from out bodying Barrass. Something larkey rarely does.

Re battle, he hasn’t even played on larkey when we play the saints.

The guy with the best record on hawthorns list vs larkey is frost, who has destroyed him for like 5 games in a row.

To be fair Carey wouldn’t have kicked goals the last time we played the Hawks.

You’re underrating Barass. He is a gun.

If North don't improve this season he will leave.
If they do then he'll stay.

His place in 2026 is absolutely tied to North's fortunes this season.

Barrass is a gun, but 1v1 defending wasnt his strength. Barrass always tended to sit off his opponent a bit so he could fly at the contest with a spoil/mark, thats not something someone who is confident in their ability to defend 1v1 does.

He was always more suited to being an interceptor, but never really got to make the role his own as he was playing alongside the best there ever was at intercepting for pretty much his entire career.

Hawks fans such as yourself are hilarious IMO. Mention a bit of common sense and out you trot waving pitch forks and shouting at clouds. Lol.

You act like your team is entitled to just keep improving and other teams can't and won't improve.
OMFG you sound like you're describing yourself on the WC board.

Game plans get found out and countered. Hawks rolled out something new and it took a season for the opposition to counter. Plenty of time for other teams to watch and learn from those who did.

It happens every year.

i think its more the club expect us to rise this year
and as such ldu will stay also
Going off the average from the previous 10 seasons they'll need to win at least 8 games to get out of the bottom 4. That's 5 more wins than last year. Squiggle says 9 wins will do it. It's a big ask, but certainly not impossible.

They have to rise at some stage.

I wonder if North think he's a fair chance of leaving which made the decision to hand over a likely top 4 pick this year easier as they'll likely get one back as compo....

Its definitely a factor, but i think the main factor in that is North have too many kids.

Most peoples best 23s for North in 2025 dont have multiple first round picks in it.

Would love him at the Pies.

They will have a crack. Plenty of cap space opening up and some upcoming retirements happening.

Would work well with Nick.
Would work better if you chucked in Josh too. Be a shame to split up the brothers.
