Majak Daw vs. Nic Naitanui

I'd say compare Daw to NN's first year but that'd be unfair to both players. Different ages, different roles and Majak has played the equivilent of 3 games.

But looking at Daw Vs NN's 1st year NN has a heap more hitouts and Daw has more goals. Not really surprising considering where they play.

They are very athletic and dark skinned but NN is much taller/heavier +6cm and +12kgs.

Can't see NN going into defence to play on him and Daw would get murdered in defence.

If you watch the replay, his six goals weren't amazing. Still a very good effort given how many games he has played, don't get me wrong, but I wouldn't go thinking that Daw is even remotely comparable to Nic Nat on the back of that single game.

He got those 2 free's, but he also took another 3 marks inside 25 meters out that he failed to convert.

It's only 3 games, but he's 6th in the league for marks I50 per game.

NN and Daw is a ridiculous comparison, apart from being 3 inches in height difference, they play completely different positions for the most part, and are very different in their styles.

I know Nic Nat has a few running goals etc, but Majak will run with the ball alot more down the track, he kicked a heap of running goals in the VFL, I think we will see that sort of thing down the track a bit more.

I'd be suprised if Majak averaged over 10 hitouts a game for any year in his career, Nic will be 10 x the ruckman being West Coasts #1 ruckman, Majak will be our FF after Petrie.

Majak vs Tippett, Vickery, Clark or Ryder is a better comparison.

I agree with the premise of your argument.

However, he only got 1 free not from his doing. The one in the last (his sixth) he was held as roughhead was concerned about his pace off the mark, given he had marked so many sprinting away from the defender.

The 2nd free kick was because Roughead was hanging on. He'll draw a lot of those free kicks over the course of his career.

Yeh of course, silly poll to begin with.
But basing it more on the type of player I'd prefer, NN being taller and heavier is probably more suited to full time ruck duties than Daw, who (as a North poster informed me in another thread) is probably more of a forward who can pinch hit.
