I think we will improve all over the ground, adding all our injured players, Winderlich and Goddard will make us very tough to beat, under Hird and Bomber we have closed the gap on Adelaide and Collingwood, last year we beat Adelaide in every aspect of the game except the scroeboard and we lost to Collingwood by less than a kick and only 32 points when we were at our worst.
I really think we will start to see Essendon as being a really good team.

How much improvent will come from replacing Lonergans leg with Goddards?

You assume Winderlich will be fit. That is the outlandish statement righ there.

Really?

I only ever saw him up forward if out of defence.

I probably didn't watch that many Brisbane games, though.

He was rucking probably 30% with Hudson. Martin a very important acquisition for them.

Pevers-Legend he'll be back in his usual top level form with a full pre-season in defence. It's hard to get any consistency when you're playing all over the ground.

Our new number 1 to be the best unique DT BL pick for the season.

And Stanton to be in the top 3 picked DT mids...

Adelaide will drop out of finals- Loss of Tippet huge, dont have the incredibly easy draw they had last year.
St Kilda in bottom 5-6 clubs- Serious lack of depth, no big fullback, ageing stars past their prime.
Carlton top 4- Last year they were hurt by injury, if they stay fit, and under the vision of MM there is no reason why theu cant recapture 2011, early 2012 form imo. Unfortunately.
Whitfield struggles- Dunno why, similar to Scully.
Essendon have poorest inside 50/goal conversion rate in comp-
Watson kicks 30 goals

Tomahawk and Mitch Clarke quinella for the Coleman. Hawkins will step it up this year, with the midfield he has feeding him the ball, he will have a cracking year. Mitch Clarke simply has no competition for goals.

Daniher a close 3rd, obviously

Mitch Clarke hasn't trained at all this pre-season and has the worst midfield in front of him.
So you would say it is an out there prediction, no?

I've got a soft spot for him though, I've done the same injury as him in both feet, so I want to see him do good.

Possibly. Or he is on the downward slope. Hard to say. He is a big unit and once they lose a bit of pace and feel.... Time will tell obviously.

Actually, their draw is only marginally worse than last years.
they'll make finals unless they implode.

but will they be as good without Tippett taking the best tall?

Tippett isn't worth half of Tex. Not even RatZero would put their best defender on Tippett ahead of Walker, let alone a competent coach.

I agree. But you tell me which forward was better when he was the sole target, as opposed to having a foil?

Tippett was important to structure and because he is so big, he demands a very tall defender, which is often the best defender. You have more options with Tex due to his size.

Yeah that's another way of looking at it. Even if he isn't as good as I expect, they still have an incredibly solid combo of Patfull and Goose Maguire to round it out. I also think Hanley and Golby between them will step up (not that Hanley wasn't very good last year) to cover Drummond.

Tex is also far less experienced. The penny dropped last year, and he will destroy the comp this year. I'll be multi-ing his Coleman into my preseason Brownlow bets.
