Pacquiao will absolutely dominate even more than he dominated Cotto.

Over in 2 Rds.

PacMan could have hit Hatton with his eyes closed. Hatton has no defence or ring generalship & was made for Pacquiao. Dela Hoya was old & should have retired 5 years earlier. Not taking anything away from PacMan but I just cant see him doing what he did to Hatton & Dela Hoya doing the same against Mayweather.

This has all the hall marks of one of the great fights. I think Floyd will be to quick. But any result would not surprise. Very excited!

Isnt Pacman faster than Mayweather?

Its roughly even, but they are completely different fighters.

Pacman is more explosive, has quicker combinations than Floyd
and arguably carries a lot more power than Mayweather.

But Mayweathers reflexes are better, his ability to counter punch
and come back and his you with a quick, accurate shot, thats going
to trouble Pacman - who doesnt really handle counter punchers all
that well.

Your going to see the best offensive fighter in boxing vs the best
defensive fighter possibly ever, so its going to be a hell of a fight.

Mayweather for mine though, on points.

Until i see a presser or them in the same room signed up i wont believe it (although it seems very close). Mayweather by unanimous points. Too sound defensively.

I know what you mean, but as i said in my opening post.. the world has been waiting for this for a while, there is no way either fighter is going to knock back possibly the richest fight ever, along with maybe, hopefully one of the great bouts.. Cant wait, i dont think there will be too many sports fans who will miss this one!

Mate I agree with you 100%:thumbsu:

Mayweather by split decission, he will walk Pacquiao down so the PacMan wont be able to land his big shots:thumbsu:

Mayweather will definitely not walk Pacquiao down. That would be playing into Pacquiao's hands. Mayweather will fight this fight much like he fought De La Hoya. Against De La Hoya he fought on the back foot and very defensively whilst countering when De La Hoya made mistakes, not pretty but it gets the job done.

The ultimate good vs evil battle haha. I seriously cannot stand Mayweather and Pacman is the ultimate gentleman. Pac looked great against Cotto. Would love to see the pacman win this fight but sadly I think Mayweather is too sound defensively and if need be he will play this fight on the back foot the whole time and jab his way to a points victory. I really hope that doesn't happen though.

Hand speed is NOT about even.

Mayweather has the fastest hands in boxing, and with the possible exception of Roy Jones Jr has the fastest hands of any elite fighter for the last 10-15 years.

Pacquaio has bone jarring power, and is an unorthodox, single minded fighter. Fortunately, his power and aggression have been far too much for his recent opposition even considering his pugilistic weaknesses. In the mould of Rocky Marciano, Pacquaio is happy to batter the body, arms, hands of his opponent in order to bring down their defenses for a brutal KO.

However, Mayweather is a defensive marvel. Possible the best ever seen in this regard. His ability to anticipate and slip/parry blows is unmatched, and coupled with his remarkably quick hands makes him the most devestating counter puncher in the game. Pacquaio may find it difficult to hit Mayweather anywhere, let alone a clean KO shot.

Pacquaio has some advantages. With his power, he can stop Mayweather if he is able to catch him clean. Due to the fact that he throws from unusual positions it may mean he can catch Mayweather unaware. He may actually be counting on this because if the fight goes the distance it is unlikely he can win on points.

Smart money says that Pacquaio's best chance in this fight will be an early KO. He would be hoping to catch Mayweather cold in the opening two rounds and stop him clean.

If the fight progresses into the later rounds, Mayweathers razor sharp blows are likely to begin slowing Pacquaio down, and end in either a late round stoppage or unanimous points decision.

My verdict, Mayweather is the finest fighter of his generation. This will be his greatest challenge, but he will be able to navigate the fire Pacquiao will bring and progress through to the later rounds of the fight. His cautious approach will mean he will not chase the KO against such a dangerous fighter, and will coast to a mundane unanimous points decision.

Mayweather UD12 Pacquaio
