Who's it from ?
I’d like to know too so I can avoid wasting any more of my life watching them. The first one, in particular, was absolute dribble. Based on one early pre-season game on an oddly shaped ground, he has determined that Cox has created a completely different (and more exciting?) game style, full of exciting overlap running??? Did he not watch any of the first 15 rounds of last season?

“Oddly shaped ground”? It’s the exact dimensions of Docklands (it used to be odd shaped when they first put the tramline in but then duplicated Docklands when they removed the bus lane on the other side later on).

On TV it looks odd , the far side needs some red and white or something

I despise him , i meant our monarch from Tassie

Oh umm I think he should have more pizazz and pep in our gameplan.

I also think Mars Bars variations are unnecessary, just have a Mars Bar, don't need a raspberry version.

Jump too high and float off into space
In order to escape the moon's gravity he'd have to jump from the moon surface at > 8000 km/hr.

If a player could jump vertically at even 1% of the escape speed needed to break free of the moon's gravity (>80km/h), he would go up spectacularly high even as he constantly slowed down as the moon's gravity pulled him back towards its surface.

At the top of the jump Heeney would come to a momentary stop before accelerating back torwards the moon until he slammed into the surface at the same speed he left it (>80km/h). If he were lucky he'd break both legs and perhaps complress his spine

I hope this is the year where Campbell starts to nail some consistency, alongside being a predominant forward.

Playing him as a small defender has most definitely built the defensive edge of his game. Watching him today makes you realise again how smooth and zippy he is in traffic, it’s game changing. Fingers crossed he can up his production.
Every coach now swears by shifting player's positions around to get maximum versatility out of a team. Horse was doing it for years and Cox continues in the same vein.

Disadvantages: A player may not spend enough time to develop into their best natural position

Advantages:

1. Forwards who can get back and actually defend and defenders who find themselves forward know how to kick a goal or deliver inside 50 (well)
2. We have more options available for every position and better matches for opposition players
3. We make better use of key talls, spreading them across defence and forward.
4. Modern teams rely on players understanding all roles and playing several well
5. Versatility allows for in-game rotations for resting or creating a mis-match

Cox had to stick with his changes imo and see them out for a bit

If we are 0-2 and reverts back imo he doesn’t trust himself and won’t improve on the playing group
He should stick with changes that worked, question things that merely show potential and ditch those things that clearly didn't add anything.

The whole point of a practice game is to practise different things. A coach who lacks flexibility and can't or won't change his mind won't last long.

On reflection, after todays “game”:

Stocks Up
  • Campbell
  • Armatey

Stocks Down
  • Adams (not going to be seen much in the mids)
  • McCartin (but jury still out on him as a forward)

The rest just kinda did what you’d anticipate
I mostly agree but I'd like to add that Florent was sublime. He's amplified his ghost-like presence, appearing out of nowhere to provide an option, to take control, deliver a precise pass, a slick handball or roost a 55m goal. He'll surprise a hard running opposition with an unexpected tackle from out of nowhere. He pops up in spaces where there was no-one a second ago. , either for a goal saving mark in defence or slipping inside 50 unseen.

It's no wonder we get a few newbies every year who ask "What does Florent do?" Might as well ask what the wind does.
