We are missing Bodey terribly.

Seeing as most of our forward struggle to take a contested mark WiTHIN THE FORWARD 50, we need a good, attacking crumber at their feet. Not to mention the speed the ball was leaving our forward 50 last night, nowhere near enough pressure.

With Stevens, Perrie & Bock - they are all very similar players, but we don't seem to have anyone else in the side who can play a crumbing role.

On a related note, we ****ed up by letting Skipworth go.

He was unlucky to be de-listed, but it's easy to judge the clubs decision with hindsight. I still think it was the correct call. This supported by the fact he was shopped around everywhere and was not wanted by any other AFL club.

Should have kept him and not bothered with Nick Gill.

You're right about hindsight, and predicting the injuries we've had is impossible, but at the moment I'd take Skippy back in a heartbeat.

Fremantle are feeling the same pinch with our best 'pressure' forward sitting sidelined. Though thats by his own doing. I think small fowards are extremely important. They unsettle rebounding type players where a lot of attacks are mounted from.

You're more likely to evoke discussion about Skipworth than Bode with that last sentence! I think the last couple of weeks without Bode will have a lot of us agreeing with you there.

I was one of the few Skippy fan boys around here but at the time we got rid of him it seemed fair enough, even to me. We needed to hit the draft fairly hard. But it's disappointing to see us having used one of those picks on Nick Gill. While it's apples to oranges Skippy would've been better on our list than Gill - and that's not just hindsight speaking.

Nick Gill was the ultimate MFU. I don't know about keeping Skippy, but IIRC there were far better options left in the draft. Was recruited as 'cover', but what do you do when your 'cover' can't get on the park?

Did his knee in the VFL last week apparently.

Just not meant to be.

Baah, poor bloke :thumbsd:

MFU - at a guess I'd say the first word is 'massive'. I'll let you fill in the rest. ;)

Well it could be, but it isn't ;)

I pretty much changed MSU to MFU for some added spice :thumbsu:

Even if it means that Skipworth is out for the year with a knee reco?

Skippy never did that much while on our list anyway, as soon as it looked like he would come good he took a step backwards. He is not exactly a tough crumber like Bode, Skippy is too small and struggles to kick the ball 40m. Gun at SANFL level but struggled at AFL level and I used to be a big fan of him until his incident last year.

I do think we need to look at a pacey crumbing type in the next draft. It's all well and good having blokes like Bode and Vince who can crumb, but an explosive little blighter like a Davey or even a Milne would be handy.
