Mifsud retweeted one of my tweets regarding Andy D writing his speech for him - he has ignored all my questions since. Tonights interview is going to be a load of shit.

Ali Fahour's brother (head of Australia Post) tweeted:

Mahammed Fahour ‏ @mfahour
@jason_mifsud great article an about time someone came out and gave it right back wack

The same brother that oversaw the Aust Post sponsorship of AFL Multicultural program in around May last year ... Almost the same time ali got his job.

And if you wonder why it all came out last week, rather than 2 months ago:

Australia Post and AFL Announce Multicultural Ambassadors
Wednesday, 14 March 2012

The AFL and Australia Post today announced 10 AFL players as this year's Multicultural Ambassadors as part of the Australia Post Community Inclusion Partnership.
<snip>

Speaking at the launch today, AFL Chief Executive Officer Andrew Demetriou said the AFL was proud to partner with Australia Post, an organisation which also values the importance of connecting people and communities, including multicultural communities.

<snip>

Australia Post Managing Director and CEO Ahmed Fahour said the Multicultural Ambassadors were a valuable part of the partnership, which will help strengthen bonds formed in local communities.

Do you think Ahmed and Andrew may have had a chat last Wednesday ?

I wonder if he is offended by the private schools that bring in Aboriginal kids to play footy for them.

As that is pretty much what Rendell has suggested, and according to todays Adelaidenow, this what offended him. The suggestion that Rendell had regarding an Academy for 30 16 year olds.......

Methinks this "offended" line has been made up to cover the fact Vlad made a goose of himself before knowing the context of what was said.

You do have to wonder why Rendell had to lose his job, given the precedents set by Roos, Hird & Dipper.

Vlad made it abundantly clear that he wanted Rendell's head - and he got it. But why was Rendell treated differently to all of these other people who made similar race-related blunders? Yet another question for the investigation into AFL House's involvement...
Absolutely true.

as I have said before - is he offended by Cyril Rioli's success?

well done Jenny for those tweets :thumbsu:

If anything, this is the bigger scandal. It smells like corruption at the highest level. Imagine if a government body acted like this?

Caro are you there?

The AFL has got to Caro - see that article today about Vlad and his botched handling of GWS? Way too neutral, even apologetic for my liking.

Robbo might have a go.

@richardmarx1 answering q's not the issue. Ppl being told what they don't want to hear is. u already made up ur mind, why r u interested?

Seriously Jase? Not answering questions is not the issue?

And as for 'Ppl being told what they don't want to hear is' is spot on. Rendell told you your programs aren't working. You didn't want to hear it. So the trigger was pulled on Rendell.

@RooMcFudd @marngrook absolutely impartial & I'm working interstate so can't be in Melb. Confidentiality not the issue here - racism is.

Piss poor Jason. Firstly, marngrook is going to be as seriously loaded on one side as possible ... not deliberately but it'll be loaded all the same. Secondly, what the hell does being out of Melbourne mean in terms of which TV show you appear on? Ever heard of a satellite link buddy? You know, with cameras, mikes and stuff?

If you choose Marngrook because they're sympathetic, that's fine. Just don't bullshit us into believing you chose them because they're impartial and you're not in Melbourne.

Yep.. he's not loving my tweets.

As distinct from people like yourself, who don't want to hear that Rendell's comment were indeed racist (albeit unintentionally)?

Like it or not, I think there's enough evidence around now to support a guilty verdict. Whether or not the punishment fits the crime (and who was judge/jury/executioner) are fair questions, but I think we've moved past the point where Rendell's guilt has been established.

I'm concerned about the tweet from Ali Fahour to Robbo at the Herald Sun from earlier in the week. (Also while he might have deleted a number of tweets, they do still 'exist' in the ether of the internet and can be retrieved again if needed. It has happened in a few slander cases already). He was very lucky he put "freely" on the end of it because the implication was that unless you are an indigenous person then you are not able to comment on indigenous issues. If that "freely" wasn't there after comment, then he would not be able to comment either. Actually come to think of it, he shouldn't be speaking either about it according to his own statement and neither should the rest of his family.

Why are people so convinced that Mifsud's appearance on Marngrook is nothing but a stitch up? It seems to be a bad case of shooting the messenger, rather than wanting to believe the message - and now they're wanting to shoot the carrier pigeon as well.

Last time I checked, the Marngrook footy show was on the ABC. Unlike the commercial stations, the ABC is known (and renowned for) its independence.

Sure, Mifsud won't be asked any "tough" questions, but he will be able to give his side of the story without interference from "journalists" driven by their own agendas. I sincerely doubt that the Marngrook staff would have allowed Vlad to vet their questions, as doing so would seriously impinge upon the ABC's integrity.

Some people need to seriously grow up and think before they hit the "Send" button.

Vader, he has gone from apparently laughing off Rendell's comments to Grant Thomas to now actually declaring Rendell to be a racist. I think there is NO doubt, this will be a stitch up and I think you might be kidding yourself if you think the AFL won't have their grubby little mits in this.

I copied them into this thread before he removed them. ;)

The Marngrook Footy Show is the perfect medium for Mifsud to do one of two things: 1) Educate, inform, and pour cold water over the situation; or 2) Pour petrol on the flames and throw Rendell right in the middle of it.

I'll judge the integrity of this bloke depending on which path he takes.

I suppose Vader when they tweet Mifsud's coming on to discuss Rendells racist comments, even before they have interviewed him, they dont come across as too independent

Assuming Grant Thomas was telling the truth...

Fair comment Ruscy but they have advertised it as:

"breaks his silence & speaks exclusively to @marngrook following Matt Rendell's racist comments."

Bit hard to see it going any way other than 2. I guess the proof will be in the pudding.

Sure, Mifsud won't be asked any "tough" questions, but

No, there's no buts. This is the entire problem. This is one of the biggest issues to come out of the AFL world in a long time, he NEEDS to be asked hard-hitting questions on the spot about the incident, instead he is "breaking his silence" about the Aboriginal comments in a pre-recorded interview, on an Aboriginal football show - that is a joke. I am very confident I will sit back after tonights interview and think what a complete and utter waste of time.
