Just retire already and get out of the way of the next generation. Your time has passed and you don't want to put yourself before the club.

If it takes this long to work out if you want to play or not then that answers the question in itself.

Retire a legend, become an assistant coach and stay in the media. Time to move onto the next phase or your life.

C'mon Lloydy, just take it, play your guts out and leave a legend.

Richo nearly won a Brownlow playing a similar role, no reason you can't do the same.

We saw you in the second half of '08, leading hard up the ground, tackling everyone in sight on the wing, that's what we NEED from you buddy,

2nd this.

Hope Lloyd reads BF...

I reckon it's got less to do with whether he wants to play, and more to do with the new baby and whether he's better off hanging around and doing the family thing or spending one more year making money and living the dream. Could be wrong, but if that is the case I reckon it's quite fair that it's taking this long.

I agree Nighthawk. Second child's arrival is a busy time too. Heard on SEN that he's meeting at the club today and we should hear something possibly around midday.

lloyd and hamilton met this morning and both emerged smiling - i'm tipping this means one of two things:
(a) both were happy with the outcome of contract negotiations
(b) they had just seen a replay of campbell brown's girl slap which would bring a smile to anyone's face

In a way, you kind of hope it's the latter, imagine the press conference ;)

Brown sitting down and Lloyd comes in off the line ... to slap him?

Hamilton: We've come to a conclusion and we are extremely happy with the result. We can't wait till next season
Press: So Lloyd has signed?
Hamilton: Oh, no of course not, we were just watching a replay of the Hawthorn match.

Lloyd has comitted to playing on next year. Stand by (or sit) for more info... Source SEN, but conformation not provided.

Is there only two options with this one? Play at Essendon or retire? If he doesn't decided to stick with us the I wouldn't mind him playing on at another club.

I take it then you'll give him a resounding applause as he lines up and kicks a goal against the DONS ?

He has defenetly earned that right, and I'd hope which ever club he chooses we get the deal done first thing Monday trade week for a very low pick we know we wouldn't use. (except if it's Collingwood, they can go get ****ed)

Would you actually boo him?

We told him he isn't our number 1 forward, we took his position away, I'd be very annoyed if any Bomber supporter had a go at him.

Hopefully he would kick his 1000th against us so I can run on the field and applaud him.

The enemy does not wear red and black.

So we should all cheer Lloydy as he lines up to kick to his 1000th goal in next years grand final against the DONS?

Seeing as we'd be 12 goals up and Fletch only gave it to him coz he likes him so much, yeah I would:p

If Lloyd was traded 5-6 years ago I would've been tempted to change clubs to continue supporting him considering he's been my favourite player. If he does leave Essendon, I do hope that he gets to play at the Dogs. I'd probably go and see the match where he kicked his 1000th.

If Lloyd wants any chance of gettin to 1000 goals, moving clubs is clearly the best option... N if he went to another club I'd wanna be there in my essendon jumper running on the ground... He still kicked 930ish of those for us... N if ya boo him your a ****in idiot

I'd clap in celebration of Lloyd kicking his 1000th goal no matter what the circumstances were.
Yep, me too.

Of course I wouldn't want him to cause us to lose, but to say you wouldn't be happy for him is childish. Especially under the circumstances, I'd be happy to see him successful at another club.
