Hi guys, i'm sure this question has been asked many times before, but i would like Adelaide supporters' opinions on the matter. Obviously Andrew Mcleod and Mark Riccuito have been two of your clubs biggest champions, but out of the two who has been of the most value throughout their careers?

Is it Mcleod who is the supreme big-game player who dominated the 97 and 98 (and 2002 Wizard Cup) Grand Finals, collecting two Norm Smith Medals (and a Michael Tuck Medal) along the way and helping your club two its first two premierships?

Or is it Riccuito who has been the model of consistency over his long and distinguished career in which he won your clubs first Brownlow Medal, and has inspired his teammates and followers of the game with his tough, courageous and inspirationsal attack on the football?

Thanks, Wellsy

Riccuito, and im not even a crows supporter. Everyone should know that ricuito has done way more and he is the captain.

Adelaide might not have won a premiership without Mcleod. You should know that as much as anybody being a St. Kilda supporter. Or maybe you are like me in the way that you have completely repressed those memories of Mcleod dominating against both of our sides in the Grand Final and now those memories no longer exist!

In terms of value, Macca. As was said, he was amazing in both premierships, and without him we may never have won them.
That said, I still like Roo more, he's more consistent and I just like him more. Roo's been a great captain through some good and bad times and always been there standing out. It's a very hard decision. I voted Macca.

shhhhhhh..... dont know what you're talking about. *cough cough*

Mark Ricciuto for me

I have admired him for his talent since he had the mullet back in 1993 and he has just gone onwards and upwards since then.

Having said that, I think Mcleod has been amazing for us too and magical to watch.

Have much love for them both but more for Roo :D

Ricciuto... but god it is hard to pick. McLeod has also been magnificent - 2 Gold Jackets and 2 Norm Smith Medals. But Roo wins it based on his Brownlow win - and deserves at least another two. McLeod also earns a Brownlow, but his time has passed.

I voted Ricciuto.

Ricciuto for his will to win & his consistency throughout his whole career.

McLeod has been outstanding in games, especially the two Grand Final wins, but he also goes AWOL on occasions and I think he's on the slide.

McLeod at his best > Ricciuto at his best

Unfortunately though, we don't see enough of it and haven't for a while now.

Can't argue with the above.

Macca at his best has more magic - but unfortunately it seems to have disappeared at present.

Roo's record speaks for itself. Umpteen times AA, Brownlow Medallist and always gives what he has to give. A great inspiration to the rest of the team.

Roo comfortably.

Are you an Adelaide supporter, silky-smooth?

You're obviously a South Australian, and you live on the General Topics board - but do you have a love for the Crows?

Exactly - consistency of performance is the mark of a true champion....not winning 2 Norm Smiths then spending the next 6 years circling behind marking players to pick up handballs to claim half his stats.

The line I highlighted shows which way I voted..

To me Roo has been like the sun ..always there always shining..sometimes hidden by clouds but you know he will be back..

McLeod on the other hand has been like a comet ...started off slow and got brighter and brighter and exploded onto our consciousness with a brilliant 2 year run and is now fading slowly out of our minds...

I still believe Macca can turn it on but I as much as I hope he will return to some form of glory I think we will see flashes of brilliance where in Roo we will see him motoring along nicely.

I agree with the majority which has been posted above.

Roo, over the years has brought alot more the AFC not just on the field but also off the field.

Macca is an awesome player and I still think he has another good year left in him, but Roo's record over the years cannot be denied.

Should go down as an AFL great.

I hate to say this but i was a member of the trade Burton and Mcleod to the Bulldogs for Cooney/Minison. Pity they're not that dumb ...
