2 thrillers in one night wow!!! I haven't seen any of the Freo Dees game but it sounds like a pretty good close game,I tipped Freo to have all my tips right so far apart from the Pies .

Freo got out of jail. No doubt about that.
But I think some of the Melbourne supporters are getting a bit too worked up and are looking for excuses/scapegoats. Firstly Brown did run too far. Secondly Farmers goal was inconclusive from the angle shown on TV. (digital TV with multiple angles would be nice) And finally the free kick was definately there. I wouldn't blame Neitz for it. It was just desperation and Farmer happened to be in the way.

Croad did pretty good and benefited from having Nicholson playing on J-lo. Nicholson gave J-lo a towelling.

Antoni Grover's rough play charge shouldn't stick but it will be interesting to see how the tribunal treats a no name, aboriginal Fremantle footballer (possibly the most marginalised group in the eyes of the tribunal) compared to one N. Buckley. Admittedly the incidents were not similar at all besides the fact neither should have gone to the tribunal.

Tackle (bump) was slightly high, no malice in it. It was worth a free kick, but that's about all.

What ever happened to the umps putting their whistles away in the last few minutes of a tight match?

In a close contest, where a shot at goal from 25 metres out, directly in front is priceless it should take a very obvious indiscretion for a free-kick to be given away. Soft, tiggy-touchwood free kicks like the one I saw tonight shouldnt cost a team a game.

I guess we can now add Farmer to the list of (in)famous interstate-side after-the-siren matchwinners...

Jameson, Cresswell, Farmer...is there anymore?

It was a clear free kick! Had to be paid.

The goal was hard to tell from the two camera angles shown last night. You have to give the umpire the benefit of the doubt as he was in the best position.

nah it was still a point. Confusion at the ground too. Where i was sitting in the mmebers i was right behind how the ball curled round the goal post....so everyone round me got up and cheered and then it got called a point so we started thinking we were seeing things. Cornes had a go at the umpire....everyone behind the goals started abusing him....and Cornes even ahd a second go at the umpire as they went off the field at half time

Stupid blind git....have fun in the country the next 5 months!

probly made worse by the fact that Farmer kicked the goal. Still cant believe that!! unbelivable.

The key point is that Freo needed two scoring shots to win with less than two minutes to go and Melbourne had posession. Now all that needs is some decent running into space to take two r three marks and wind the clock down. The ball can go forward , backwards sidewards, anywhere. That the Dees coughed it up shows a lack of professionalism that they will get a good bollocking for. The game was theirs, they threw it away.

I think the bad decisions went both way. Last quarter Ellis literally had hold of Longuirs arm in a marking contest and the ump didn't see it.

Second quarter Croad gets pinned for holding the ball after taking three steps while Melbourne continue to take their men on all night getting tackled and not getting penalised.

'Bout time Freo got some luck.

Of course it was warranted and yes freo deserved to win.
Good game all round and Melbourne supporters your team came close to doing what Essendon,Richmond and the Lions couldnt so be proud of your team.

Haselby will be a top 5 midfielder by the end of the year,he is a one touch player that at times is harvey like.
Croad played well and is finally repaying his debt to the club and with the return of McPharlin,along with Polak and Brownes good signs it really will only get better.

I think its safe to say that Freo will not come close to matching the adeliades clubs offers to pavlich.
Haselby in all honesty should be offered a similar contract along with longmuir.

Id concentrate on signing Pavlich ahead of Longmuir. Pavlich is finally showing why he was drafted top 4 a few years back....Longmuir has been a little dissapointing this year and would be behind haselby and pav in the urgent signings i would think.

Still don't think that Port will make a monumental offer for him in terms of player payments.
From a trade point of view we do have good bait.
Will be mad not to make an offer, but the size would probably not match the Crow's or even Freo's.

Haselby,Longmuir,Polak these likes should be career players at the club, that said the loss of any of these players would be similar to port loosing tredra.There players teams are build around on the idea they will never leave the club.
For these reasons they must take priority over pavlich.

Maybe the dummons should concentrate on shutting up the ox. "I dont rate Freo" and "We dont miss the Wiz" are two pretty stupid comments from a bloke who got dominated by a rookie, who although being quite talented, probably wont win the Rising Star Award.

Well ox, you may not rate Freo, 20 million Aussies dont rate you as a football player after your recent performance. But dont despair, you could take up boxing, that way the ring ropes will help you stay near the contest.

Also, how many times does a player get to spin around holding the ball with one arm before the umpire calls a ball up? Is it 3 or 4? And out of interest, didn't that used to be holding the ball?

Farmer's kick was clearly a goal, I was at the ground and could see that it curled around the inside of the post... The push in the back was clearly there, regardless of whether it was at the end of the game... Melbourne played well, but Freo did deserve to win, so you Demon fans should stop complainning.

The umpiring was shocking... There were so many missed free kicks

The umpiring this year has been the worst ive seen it. Something definatly needs to be done as the umpires are beginning to ruin matches.
