The less said the better. The lowest score of the 2013 Toyota AFL Premiership Season, our 2nd biggest loss of the season and Neil Craig's second biggest loss as a coach I believe (his biggest being a 141 point defeat to Brisbane in 2004). When you have two inside 50s in 40 minutes of football and practically kick 2.2 in three quarters of football, it's unacceptable.

Players To Watch
Nathan Jones: I'm in favour of giving this bloke a permanent spot on this thread given he consistently delivers while his team mates just sit there and watch. Jones led all comers for the Dees with 24 disposals last week against North, laid five tackles and had almost a third of our clearances (seven out of our 27). Let's face it, without him our average losing margin balloons to well over 100 points this season. What a champion, make him captain pls pls pls.

Colin Sylvia: Another of the rare triers in the loss to North, Sylvia has shown good form this season and had 21 disposals on Saturday. Sylvia laid eight tackles and had four clearances which are stats we're finally becoming accustomed to from the 2003 #3 draft pick.

Max Gawn: Celebrated signing a new deal by putting in a good performance. While Goldstein was terrific on the weekend, Gawn still tried very hard, collecting 17 disposals, 20 hitouts, four tackles and six marks - three of them contested. Gawn has another big task this weekend, facing Jonathan Giles and Dean Brogan this weekend.

Admit it. You, like most other non-Collingwood supporters, wanted GWS to get over the line and cause one of the greatest upsets we'd ever see. However, it was not to be and may have to make three forced changes as Bugg, Kennedy and Hoskin-Elliott suffered concussion over the weekend. However, there is one man who became the talk of the town thanks to his stirling performance on Saturday.

Players To Watch
Jeremy Cameron: Just how good could he be? I liken him to a young Chris Grant, who kicked 50 goals in his debut season in 1990. Well Cameron is now up to 50 and surely has to be a lock for AA selection. Cameron kicked seven goals in two and a half quarters - that's more than we could muster in our last five quarters of footy. With the potential addition of Tom Boyd OR Lance Franklin, in addition to Adam Tomlinson as the half forward who works up the ground and the return of Jonathan Patton, the potential of taking the third tall could well be frightening.

Callan Ward: The bloke's a superstar and I personally think he's one of the top 30 players in the league at the moment. What he has done cannot be understated. Had another 32 touches on the weekend and has really stood out since making the move from Footscray. Ward has averaged 24 touches in 27 games with the Giants. Considering they have only won two games they are not bad stats.

Dylan Shiel: Comes in to this game with solid hauls of 28 and 26 possessions respectively against top eight teams in Essendon and Collingwood. However, his best game remains the Giants' previous encounter against the Dees, in which Shiel accumulated 29 possessions, four clearances, four inside 50s and a goal. Shiel has been in solid form this season and will look for another big game this weekend.

Prediction
Frighteningly, GWS may well come into this game of football as favourites. That's right. Favourites. Just an indication of how bad we were against North. The last time we met it only took a 12 goal last quarter to get over the line - GWS still scored what was then their second highest score in their brief history (which became their third highest the following week, also in a loss). A loss would put more pressure on much of our list, and puts us back in the ballpark for an embarrassing wooden spoon. A win, however, alleviates all that risk, if only slightly.

I will be at this game, 3rd week in a row i have gone to a game in sydney and honestly the last 2 got boring quickly. I want a close game for 3 qtrs then us to pump them by 12 goals.

GWS are a real chance. Teams don't go winless IMO.

I'll be putting some cash behind the Giants.

And then spending my winnings on alcohol.

Dont go back to being emo, i only just unblocked you.

Go wild and block me again, I can't think of too many things I've been wrong about just yet tbh. Open your eyes.

Nothing to with you being wrong it just you are such a emo some times its paintfull to read.
It tends to coincide with 100 pt losses read into that what you will :p

I'm hoping that the prospect of the extreme embarassment of us being the first team to lose to GWS this season will be enough to motivate us to get us across the line.

However, we've been extremely embarassed all year, so I can't see that working.

I'm tipping an awful spectacle of AFL, with us falling over the line, much like the dogs did against GWS a few weeks back.

I hope that the GWS will embarrass us and force these bums who have shamed our jumper to reconsider and hand back their match payments.Pathetic.

Surprised by this, they have been in decent form (relatively speaking), and Cameron could go ballistic if neither Frawley or Garland get up for this one.
If they both don't play we're in serious trouble.

Could be a bigger crowd than the one at Etihad last week, seeing as they're a huge chance for their first win. Or the lowest crowd of the season by far.

gentleman agreement between the captains that both teams settle for a draw? ;) would help both teams ..
if your two key backs are out (spud an garland) who goes to the best full foward in the afl?

This will be interesting.
We have had issues with consitency all year, not being able to string more than 2 good games in a row, and against the Dees we are coming off good efforts against Essendon and Collingwood.
And as Demons fans will remember fondly from last time, we struggle in the 4th quarter.

I'm thinking Melbourse by 2 goals.
