Say we get 3 games at the end of the season with crowds does that mean my credit is 8 games subtract the ITW cost?
Yep this is basically correct
The email we got cited some specific examples too
Examples - Membership with 11-match access

  • A C Reserve Adult membership is priced at $630 in 2020. This, divided by its 11 match benefits, is $57 per match. If only three home matches are played with spectators permitted to attend in 2020, the member will lose eight matches of their entitlements; in this instance, they would receive 8 x $57 = $456 in credit. If no home matches are played with spectators permitted to attend in 2020, they would receive $580, which equates to their full season, less the $50 fee held per membership to cover the membership component.
  • An E Reserve adult membership is priced at $410 in 2020. This, divided by its 11 match benefits, is $37.27 per match. If only three home matches are played with spectators permitted to attend in 2020, the member will lose eight matches of their entitlements; in this instance, they would receive 8 x $37.27 = $298.16 in credit. If no home matches are played with spectators permitted to attend in 2020, they would receive $360, which equates to their full season fees, less the $50 fee held per membership to cover the membership component.
The above principles will also apply to Victorian Platinum members, in relation to the number of matches played at Marvel Stadium and the MCG with spectators permitted to attend.

Examples - Membership with less than 11-match access

  • A 5-Match Flexi adult membership is priced at $175 in 2020. This, divided by its five match benefits, is $35 per match. If only three home matches are played with spectators permitted to attend in 2020, the member will lose two matches of their entitlements; in this instance, they would receive 2 x $35 = $70 in credit. If no home matches are played with spectators permitted to attend in 2020, they would receive $125, which equates to their full season fee, less the $50 fee held per membership to cover the membership component.
  • A 3-Match Flexi adult membership is priced at $110 in 2020. This, divided by its three match benefits, is $36.67 per match. If only one home match is played with spectators permitted to attend in 2020, the member will lose two matches of their entitlements; in this instance, they would receive $60 in credit, which equates to their full season fee, less the $50 fee held per membership to cover the membership component.

I've been a member for 12 years.

I have 2 x Adult C Reserve seats, total cost this year was $1,260. Paid in full back in Jan I think.

Haven't been hit too hard by COVID-19 in an income sense, but there's a lot still to play out. It's probably whacked a good 5% off the house at a time when we were looking to move. But that's relative.

I certainly won't be pledging my 2020 membership in full, it's just a question of how much if any, and if so, when.

The club entered this period in great nick financially. Like all other business it has received financial support from the taxpayer. I have given my loyalty through thick and thin. I spent 9 years in the wings, which at its core is essentially a paid waiting list (but you do get some benefits). I'll be a member next year for sure, paying whatever they charge.

If I step back and look at this as me having a sum of money that I am looking to charitably donate to an entity/group/person... would I be donating it to the Eagles? I'm not sure I would. We all know there are others who are far more in need.

So the jury's still out on this one for me. But I know I won't be deciding now. I will likely do nothing at present, take the credit and then make a separate donation to the club later in the year if I want. Or send the donation somewhere else.

^

Absolutely.

I'm a working class pleb. Meanwhile West Coast is one of the biggest, wealthiest clubs in the country. A multi million dollar organisation.

Nobody should feel any obligation to donate anything, your continued support over the years is more than enough. It's what's made the club what it is.

Is a former player like Fraser Mcinnes being let go from his development coach role at West Coast more important than donating to a charity? Cancer research?

Any option other than donation is under "contact us to discuss".

Options are there but it's very slanted.
Ours are a lot more straightforward and hence easier to understand.
Yeah, agree with both of those points. But at least the options are there fro Freo members.

What are the options Freo are offering?

My wife got hers through just now.

It’s heavily focused on a ‘Forever Freo Pledge’ thing.

Talks a lot about being ‘a Hero‘ and being recognised on a website - plus going into the draw to win prizes - the more you pledge the more entries you get.

They have definitely leaned heavier into the ‘WE NEED YOUR MONEY! BE A REAL SUPPORTER’ side of things.

I feel WCE come out of this with a bit more class..

I think that 's the commercial reality for the 2 clubs.

Anyone see how the Giants set out their options for members:

The fact a full refund isn't actually full is pure bullshit.
Can debate about the tone or the underlying messages they're all sending out, but full refund is full. If they refund it, they won't pay gst on it and the incremental cost of processing a membership should not fall on the fan.

I thought the good and services comment was on actual goods e.g. membership hat and scarf etc.
The Eagles are deducting between $35-50 for the same thing. They've already provided us with packs and even though I don't value them at $50 the organisation clearly do.

You are most probably right.

Given the choice of not getting a lanyard next year though, I'd take a cheaper membership.

I believe $50 is the minimum spend for someone to be officially counted as a member, per AFL mandate. If so, it isn't the club driving that decision. The $35 processing fee under the Cancel option is high, but probably there to discourage people choosing that over Pause.
