I had forgotten all bout his game after the game's conclusion. I don't think anyone could possibly imagine how well he would have taken to his role when we picked him up.

If we were a better side right now he would be lauded as one of the in-form, most dangerous forwards in the comp at the moment (ahead of Cloke, Pods, Kennedy and probably Crameri)

Is doing exactly what is asked of him, and playing with a ferocity and power that the forward line has not seen since Neitz.

If we can pick up a midfielder or two that work out as well as he has, next year we will be a force.

Our forward line as a whole looked much more effective yesterday than it has all year. Mostly due to Clark's influence, of course... the man is a star, who ever doubted his ability to be the main target? Never got a shot at it at the Lions, and is now showing his wares.

The delivery to him is average at best, his composure at the shizen deliveries he gets is great as well ... ball spills and no whinging, just getting on with the next contest. If his weakness was 2nd efforts and groundwork he would be useless .... This is where he is worth his weight in gold, does the number 11 proud.

Excellent decision to recruit the big man; has been a revellation all year. Better than I had hoped even.

Given better delivery into the F50 and some crumbing forwards, our offence will be much better.

MITCH Clark stands 200cm. That's 6ft 7in in the old measure. That's tall.

Not remarkably so at AFL level, yet surprisingly so for a player most people see only on the small screen.
Particularly for such a mobile, quick, agile player.
He's 4cm taller than Simon Madden, the premier ruckman of the modern era, yet can play anywhere, and has even had time on a wing.
At 21, he is an emerging star. At this advanced stage of the season, he has undeniable claims to a spot in the team of the year.
Aaron Sandilands might be the most effective ruckman in the game, Darren Jolly might be superior in the art of ruck work, yet Clark is the most accomplished player playing as a ruckman.

When he was playing for Brissy he tore us a new one a couple of times (we won both games, but he was dominant)

Was wrapt when we landed him, have been even more wrapt since he's actually played the way he has

He hits packs fiercely, he's a great mark, he's a lovely kick, he's agile and good around the ground, and most importantly, he plays with some absolute mongrel which we desperately need

The one thing I love about the guy is he is dependable. Takes a big mark, goes back, slots it. Such a good feeling. It's foreign to me as a MFC supporter.

Mitch C is the best thing to happen to MFC in the last few years. He is tough, he can play, and he must be giving some of the younger, smaller guys confidence when he is around them. Recruit a few more players like MC into into the team and we can start to talk seriously about being a contender - recruiting pretty boys who were going to bring us a flag in 5 years was not the answer. Also, getting rid of so many experienced players in such a short time probaly didn't help either. Hindsight is great, but surely the philosophy of DB was off the mark.

Great article, you've got to appreciate Browns opinion as well, he's a champ. still underrated by the rest of the comp but worth every cent IMO

I think it's fair to say he has far surpassed any hopes we might have had. Most of us were a bit dubious about the amount we were shelling out for him and whether he would be committed enough given his first choice was to go back to WA. Many were suggesting he was the only big forward we could get our hands on so we had to pay overs for an average player. All that has been put to rest - he is our best player, he never stops trying and contesting. He kicks goals. He's exactly what we've been missing from our club culture for many years. Awesome pickup. Possibly the best recruit we've ever picked up from another club.

i was one who doubted him when we drafted him.

pick 12 was fine nut unsure about the $$$.

i was wrong.

He is an excellent contested mark and kicks the goals. The way he absorbs contact and clunks it is elite.
