We never offered 16 and 20, that is more media bullshit. This is what I hate about Australian sports media v US sports media. The US Sports media is respected, they have real inside information and don't go blabbing most of it. The Aus sports media don't have real inside info and go around spouting bullshit.

how do you know what we have or havent offered?

I'd like Clark but not for two top 20 draft picks. I really hope the clubs doesn't stuff this one up. Seeing as Port have just got Renouf we wil keep Griffen and don't need Mitch as much.

While it doesn't seem ideal if it goes down this way. We probably need to assume that Bond and Lloyd know what he is worth in the scheme of things.

Did anyone expect anything different? Clark has the opportunity to be close to home, and have a realistic shot at a flag and be paid reasonably well. Melbourne thinking they could pull this off proves what a rabble they are.

I'm ok with giving up 16 or 20, just not both of them.

Yep agree. The thing is one of those picks is too good to just let a player go for free over. Some really good youngsters have been selected recently in the 20's. Not saying it reflects fair value but hard to defend against getting nothing.

So if it is 16 and 20, then in essence it is Palmer + 16.

In a regular draft year that's an average midfielder and a late first rounder for Clark.

Or, speaking strictly in terms of picks, in a regular draft year it's a late first and early second rounder for Clark (a lot less than we paid for Carr, Tarrant, Croad, Headland etc).

Both of those trades look like a good deal for us, and fair for Brisbane too (IMO).

The sticking point (for us) is the fact that it's a compromised draft, and these picks are actually two first rounders... with our first pick coming in the second round at 38 (which, in a regular draft is the 3rd round).

Other clubs are onto the mature age draftee thing after (our) successes in recent years with Barlow, Broughton, Silvagni, Mzungu (as examples), so the chances of unearthing some mature age talent in this draft is less than in the previous 3 years... and the talent pool this year is, apparently, "shallow". So these add to the negative feelings we have about giving up 16 and 20.

We might just have to suck it up and see 2011 as the year we got Clark but bugger all from the draft. :(

If we keep one of them we can take Kersten, McInnes or Lockyer, which sets us up hopefully with KP depth

Taking Clark for free in the PSD would be the ducks nuts ,but to make sure he gets to Freo he could nominate for the National Draft , eg luke ball from saints to pies , & we pick him at 20.

You would surely think that Brisbane ( Pick 8 ) & Melbourne ( Pick 12 ) would not use their picks to try & shaft us in the ND as opposed to one or any other team trying their luck in the PSD.

But most of all I am a greedy prick & want to get him in the PSD for nada.

Voss/Kerr should realise that trying to save face from previous years **** ups is to actually have a player that is in contract before trying to throw their weight around.

Nothing wrong with Brisbane trying to do what's best for their club.

In a lot of ways they are lucky Clark has held off as long as he has with a definitive 'Fremantle or PSD' call.
