james 23 whilst i appreciate people fielding questions from left field really ask one that is of interest. this is a no brainer even mark williams would not hesitate dumping treaders for modra,as i said absolute no brainer.

How often do CHFs win games off their own boot? Do you only count goals? Do you include marks and contested marks as well? Much harder for a CHF to win a game off his own boot compared to a previous era FF who rarely went further than 30m from goal. Apples with Apples indeed.

From 99-04, Tredrea was regularly in Ports top 3-4 players in Showdowns. Every single time. he averaged 16.1 disp, 7.6 marks and 2.1 goals a game in Showdowns in that time, all above career average. Was in the best players in 8 out of 11 of those matches.

A fantastic myth created and spread by Crows supporters. His finals statistics are almost identical to J Browns. One is considered a poor finals performer and the other is considered influential in big games.

Just because outback jack and jmoron1 say so doesnt make it true. Some of the revisionism that happens on BF because a player is not liked is ****ing ridiculous.

Apples with apples...Tredrea at his peak was equally as dominant as Modra was at his peak. No question.

Might as well compare Oil with Water.

Both are champions in my mind. Modra only in front as he is a FF and played for the Crows. Mods also bought people to the footy.

Tredders in his prime (03-05) is as good as any CHF to play the game. The one black mark against him is injuries and longevity.

Last years final against WCE his leadership steered them onwards.

Whenhe retires will be a massive hole to fill. Bigger than Goody/Edwards/Macca in terms of leadership and gamewinning ability.

Almost "Roolike", in terms of leadership and winning games of his "own boot".

I voted for Modra if only for the fact that he did bring a lot of interest to the footy and was flashier and my memories of him, as a non-crow/freo supporter, are: a fine mark, a good goal kicker and a bit of a lady-killer.
Tredrea's a bit more dour, bit more of a workhorse BUT when he retires my memories of him are going to be predominantly shaped by three things: His great marking style , being booed during his losing speech in 07 - and that ridiculous bow .
