AFL listed players aren't allowed to play in WAFL finals unless their AFL club is still active in their own series, right (unless they have played X number of games for the WAFL club prior)?

Wonder how/when contract decisions will be made with him? sooner the better.

Regrettably I really think the best move now that he has failed to come back this year is to delist him and get him onto the rookie list, I'm as desperate as the next person to see him play but he has given us 3 years on the main list for zero games. The rookie list will take the pressure off him.

Not necessarily.

As I understand it (and having gone through the procedure myself), in ACL reconstruction they take a piece of your hamstring (or Patella, but much rarer now since it's been found to be weaker) as a graft but there's only so many you can do because your body only has 2 healthy hamstrings and patellas! The hamstring doesn't even recover back to 100%, but it's still a lot better than a Patella graft.

This would have been Mora's 3rd knee reco if he opted to go that way, which means that even if his knee returned to 100%, he'd still likely have Hamstring problems later on. By undergoing LARS, nothing was needed from his body since LARS is completely synthetic, thereby alleviating these external problems. The downside is the long term effects are still yet to be proven.

I'm not an expert in the area so someone feel free to correct me if anything I've said is incorrect! Most of it was just gathered in tidbits from my physio and surgeon

The hyrbrid reco still requires part of the hamstring tendon for the graft. Obviously a smaller amount.

I'm not sure about this. The only benefit of the LARS procedure is quicker recovery time to back playing. If he misses a year anyway it could be argued that there really wasn't much point. The club may have wanted him running earlier so that he can seriously build his fitness and charge into 2014, but that is secondary to the stability and longevity of his knee.

Either way hopefully he can surprise us and play in a month or get through the whole pre-season going into 2014. What is the chance that he will be moved to the rookie list?

From memory Mora's specific problems were to do with the fact that the grafted ACL had twice been torn from the bone and so the tendon anchor point was compromised.The Lars procedure runs the synthetic tendon through this base area and Mora's hybrid deal attempts to get the transplanted hammy to grow around the synthetic material.
Mora's operation was never a traditional quick-lars-and-straight-back-out-there operation.

The way RTB was talking on the radio he's not expecting Mora to play this year but even the fact that he will be out of contract at the end of the year RBT was talking in a positive way.
I think he will definitely be given another contract maybe 1 year or as others have suggested re rookie deal .
He may have been on the sidelines for 2 years but he's still young and given a full preseason just from what training watchers have noted about his attitude and effort at training fitness won't be an issue .

Mora is very up beat so he hasn't quit neither should we .

He is a fine young man and is very brave so I think everyone at freo is willing him on so don't expect him to be cut from the team .

He's our Cult Hero they can't delist him because the fans would scream blue bloody MURDER.

Munich is great. I get there a couple of times a year for work.

You should try eating here at the Haxnbauer (http://www.kuffler.de/de/muenchen/haxnbauer/index.php)

The schweinhaxn (pork knuckle) there is awesome. Also, it is in the middle of town, neat the Hofbrauhaus and the Platzl.

It is pretty cheap and they specialise in the pork knuckles. They roast them on an old rotisserie contraption. It is all charcoal too, so the taste is smoky etc.

I eat there a couple of times a week when in Munich.

Sort of fitting that skewered pork knees are in a thread about Morabito.

I went to Haxnbauer in July last year. Not sure I could eat pork knuckle twice a week, basashi. It's more of a "once every four years kind of thing". The first time I had pork knuckle it almost killed me. Although I had made the mad mistake of a goulash entree.
