I remember reading an article where Ross said Mora has been exemplary in his rehab and his attitude.
Can't find it with a quick google but I remember noting it at the time as someone else on this forum had been suggesting Mora was a bit of a party boy.

Those making excuses for Simpson are on shaky ground. Tanner Smith, Sheriden, crozier, Neale see their families a whole lot less than Simpson. I don't claim to understand but this game is not about culture or background or heritage it's about professional sportsman. Turning up unfit is inexcusable. Banish him and Mora if they're unfit. 1000's of blokes train their guts out to get that opportunity.

It depends on the how bad the skin folds were, if they are prepared to do anything about it?

Morabito has not played footy for 2 years, I can understand his enthusiasm slipping a little bit, lets hope this is the wake up call that Simpson and Morabito need to ensure they get the best out of themselves.

We are no longer a footy club where players can just players can get by on giving minimum effort.

His break was all of 2 weeks. I doubt any serious damage to his long term fitness could have occurred.

Moller's not a first round draft pick.

Only because we got him as a scholarship player. Most pundits thought he would go at around pick 15 in the draft. I was very disappointed that Moller rocked up in that condition as I was with Simpson.
I can't imagine the club not caring if Neale or Sutcliffe turned up unfit just because they were low draft picks. So while I understand what you are saying, it doesn't seem very relevant.

You tell them brother - anyone who attempts to dilute me with that vile coke will get a clip on the ear!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH Scotch
if you must - add Ice or just GTFO

and if you must use ice take it out of the freezer at least an hour beforehand and then just take a dash of the 'ice' ;)

I think I might have actually had my last bourbon and coke, been years since I've drunk it regularly but I always think it'd be a nice change if I haven't had it in awhile but I tried some Turkey and coke the other day and even then it's still horrible drinking a litre or so of carbonated sugar.

Back on topic I don't think we have to be too negative about Mora's return time, it'll take as long as it takes obviously and we'll know more once full training kicks in but I'd still expect to see him get some time in the preseason games, it'd be a positive if after that he was ready to go straight into Peel's first grade but if his form is good who knows....

Lyon said he wasn't happy with how lachie Neale came back after the break last season and look how his year turned out. Relax a little fellas.

I remember Lyon saying something to the effect of 'he'll learn from that' and now this year the little champ has come back looking riiiiiipped! Great stuff.

What difference does that make? He's still a "professional" athlete, playing for the worlds greatest ever AFL team, is he not?

First round draft picks are always going to get talked about more than rookie listers. I'm not excusing Moller, just saying why we're less likely to give a shit about him.

Subes has always struggled with his weight and finally shed the extra kilos this year and he had a pretty good season in 2013. Gotta say it was the first training session so it may be a bit early in calling for the heads of Mora, Simpson and Moller. Anyway, did anyone see the boys today? I drove past and thought I saw a few bodies on the oval

Fair enough, though I disagree. Anyone, once they're drafted, no matter where they were drafted, are all held to the same standards. I take it then that nobody would give a toss if Crowley and Barlow turned up out of shape when the older players return? Why then was Walters banished to the Swans in 2012? Wasn't he a pick in the 50's? I know you're talking about posters and not club officials, but I feel it's still a silly argument. You get drafted, you get held to the same standards, by fans, coaches and club officials alike. I give a shit about every player on that list. That's just me though. I guess some only worry about first round picks, good for them.

Oh come on, if you heard about an injury to Fyfe and Menegola, which one do you reckon would get talked about more? You think it should get the same number of column inches?

If Barlow and Menegola had an injury, Barlow's would get talked about a lot more and they were both rookie pick ups.

Well no shit, because of each respective player's importance to the team. For whatever reason, I doubt many would rate Moller ahead of Simpson (although he may well end up a more valuable player).

Of course it would get more press coverage, and more people would talk about it. That has nothing to do with being concerned about younger players turning up out of shape. Injuries are nowhere near the same thing. It really is a case of comparing apples and oranges. When you have players turning up out of shape, no matter where they were drafted or their standing in the team is a reflection of the culture of the club. Those two will now be told what is expected of them and they'll either perform to that or they won't. But I'd also say, we are talking about it, aren't we? They're second year players with one game under their belt and there are people here who do care about how they've turned up. Just like there are people who don't care about Moller because as you say, he's not a high draft pick.

I think someone cleared this up on another thread but it wasn't Mora who the coaches were unhappy with but Moller.
Mora was told to ease up a bit at the end of last season and as far as most people can tell is still on track with what is expected. He wants to play and will do whatever he can so that comes to pass.

Mountains out of molehills. Someone allegedly weighs a few hundred grams above what was anticpated before THEY WENT ON HOLIDAYS FOR OVER A MONTH and suddenly their career is at the corssroads? Give me a break. I think we're just desperate for things to talk about.
