He looks so much quicker.I was a fan of him in 2023 as a potential rookie when he was playing as an over ager for Sandy. Since then, his physical maturity has been impressive. He is a very natural forward with solid enough footy IQ, but he isn’t a big contested marking threat and doesn’t get much footy around the ground.
Normally I’d be excited to go after a key position player, but I feel like the likelihood of us hitting the jackpot in this MSD is relatively low. May has some developmental upside, but I couldn’t see him contributing this year.
My sentiments align with hoffseason gains 01, I really want someone who can contribute from the get go. I’d prefer a half back who can kick and defend, but you could easily make a case for a small forward, or a big bodied inside mid.

Archer Grant... If he starts showing some signs.Ah yes. Archer May, Jackson Archer... get all the Archers!
The truth of this hurts the mostNonsense.
We'd leave him for Hawthorn then spend years pretending he'll join us based on being BFNAAK.

To be fair, the club listened to Ziebells old man to get Turner on the list! I jest, but it IS very dissapointing. Not every kid is hell bent on being an AFL footballer in their teens. There's plenty who choose to focus on their academics, or just aren't mature enough at that age to really commit to the training and preparation required to be draftable at that age. And you know what it really isn't that hard to scout players. Generally, prospects just really stand out playing at lower levels, you just need a big network of people who watch a lot of footy all over the country at all different levels.God damn that is disappointing.
we should be looking at all avenues to improve this part of our club, especially at the moment with the soft cap restrictions.

West Coast have continued to keep a close eye on Peel Thunder premiership defender Michael Sellwood ahead of this month’s mid-season rookie draft.
Michael Sellwood – Peel Thunder
The Peel Thunder young gun is putting together an impressive 2025 campaign to put his name in lights for the upcoming AFL Mid-Season Draft.
Sellwood reads the game so well across half-back and is one of the best intercept-marking defenders in the competition.
The tough 21-year-old, who is averaging 23.7 possessions and 7.5 marks per game this season, made his State debut last year and was an integral part of the Thunder’s 2024 grand final triumph.
2025 averages
Disposals: 23.7
Marks: 7.5
Tackles: 3.3
in November, the Eagles have shown interest in the intercept defender who has become a mainstay at the Thunder among the Fremantle-listed talent.
The West Australian understands West Coast have regularly checked in on Sellwood, 21, who has begun the 2025 season strongly despite the Thunder’s woes.
While not a key back, the 186cm defender could be an ideal addition to the Eagles after they moved Brady Hough to the midfield ahead of their loss to Essendon in round seven.
West Coast have a spot on their list because of the season-ending knee injury to premiership hero Dom Sheed.
It is understood several clubs are also keeping tabs on Sellwood, who will line up for WA against South Australia at Adelaide Oval next weekend in his second appearance for the Black Swans.
Sellwood produced a career-best 30 disposal performance for the Thunder against West Perth in Mandurah on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Perth pair Brandan Parfitt and Charlie Constable have pulled out of the state game, prioritising looking after their bodies for the rest of the season at the Demons.
Parfitt has been persistently linked with the Eagles who are likely to hold the No.1 pick but is believed they are yet to reach out to the former Geelong midfielder.
The Demons midfielder was a late withdrawal ahead of their win over Subiaco in round five because of hamstring soreness
Sellwood’s Thunder teammate Archie Caldow is believed to have also attracted the interest of several clubs in recent weeks.
The Victorian moved to Peel this off-season and has impressed as a big-bodied midfielder since making his debut in round three.
A 3000m national champion from Ballarat, Caldow has been invited to play for the Under-21 side that will take on WA’s under-18 championship team in a warm-up game next weekend where several recruiters are likely to be in attendance.
Several clubs are also likely to look at East Fremantle ruckman Lachlan Blakiston who was on the verge of being picked up in last year’s draft.
Blakiston was on the radar of Geelong, St Kilda, Adelaide and Essendon ahead of last year’s national draft.
The 26-year-old has played only two WAFL games this season because of a shoulder injury but has returned in strong form.
The mid-season rookie draft will be held on Wednesday, May 28.
We could do with a young KPF coming through.
Wil Dawson? Dunno, but Archer May.....
This joke was filmed in front of a live ostrich. We could do with a young KPF coming through.
Wil Dawson? Dunno, but Archer May.....
We do have a couple of KPF who we are trying atm, namely W.Dawson and Maley . While bringing in Archer May sounds like a good option were does he sit in getting a game amongst the other 2? Surely they need more game time to see if they can hold down that position. We are desperatley in need of a small crumbing forward atm and Frank Szekely , to me, would be a good fit. We have a small defensive forward now in Konstanky and Paul Curtis is also very good defensively also. If the club do pick May then it says to me the they dont think they currently have a player who can fill that spot.We could do with a young KPF coming through.
