The Incredible Hulk (bill bixby)

best show ever
such an underlying message in it too :(
see my sig video links

I think Bill Bixby was a chronically underrated actor.

He was the first actor to star in three different TV shows that ran for 50 episodes or more (My Favourite Martian, The Courtship Of Eddie's Father, and The Incredible Hulk).

The "Lonely Man" music at the end of each episode was very sad as well.

I also liked how they did the show, as I was never a fan of the comic. Being on an army base would have limited the series, but having him go from one town to another opened up many possibilities for episodes.

I also liked the addition of the news reporter, Mr McGee, who was both a good guy and a bad guy simulatenously (as in, he was only doing his job, but was the antagonist to Banner/Hulk's protaganist). Great show!

yep, bixby was an amazing actor, but theres a big bixby appreciation if you dig about

and yep, the tv show evolved the hulk comic into a human study of duality, psychology, madness, what can happen with loneliness, etc. i think bixby played a big part in that when accepting the role

Interesting fact. The producer of the show made the show with Bill Bixby in mind for the role of David Banner, and said that, if Bixby had turned down the role, he would scrap making the show at all, since he couldn't think of anyone else able to pull off the role.

Not only did Bixby accept the role, he had some creative input into it, and even was executive producer of the TV movies they made at the end.

Also, on the TV movies, these were the first examples, NOT MCU, of having a "shared universe" of Marvel Heroes.

In "Return Of The Incredible Hulk", during an experiment to reverse his gamma radiation, and stopping him being the Hulk, he generates Thor, God of Thunder.

In "Trial Of The Incredible Hulk", Banner is represented in court by a blind lawyer, Matt Murdoch, who he discovers to be Daredevil.

In "The Death Of The Incredible Hulk", even though her superhero name is never said, Banner's love interest in this telemovie is Natasha Rusomovv (which I believe is the identity of Black Widow). This girl is a Russian spy in it, and looks more like the comic version of Widow than Scarlett Johannsen does in the movies.

There were even plans for more Hulk telemovies with Marvel crossovers, as this was used as a vehicle to launch new TV series, hoping for a success like "The Incredible Hulk" turned out to be.

I heard that there was a planned "She-Hulk" TV series in the works, where Banner meets a woman who can transform into the Hulk. But Banner's diagnosis of Stage 4 prostate cancer, and production problems meant that the series never got made, and with Bixby too ill to act in them, the telemovies were scrapped ("Death Of The Incredible Hulk" wasn't meant to be the movie that gave a definitive end, but again, Bixby's illness changed plans to wrap up the series in a final way).

Bixby then went onto being director of the TV series "Blossom" until his death.

There were a number of episodes I watched as a kid where I would tear up at the end when Banner had to move on because he tore the town to shreds

a lot of British comedies would make my list.
The Young Ones
Fawlty Towers
It Crowd
Yes Minister/Prime Minister

then there's the standard American drama stuff like The Sopranos and The Wire.
i loved Monkey Magic when i was a kid. i must have seen it at least 3 times but i always missed an episode here or there and i'm not even sure if i ever saw the entire thing....i still know most of the words to the theme song though.

plus a whole bunch of other stuff that i can't think of right now. i've watched too much tv in my life to remember it all.
