Bryce Gibbs - South Australia, 188cm, 79kg, Glenelg/Plympton
Poised, well-balanced medium midfielder, Gibbs' hard-running and footy smarts earned him 74 disposals during the championships, at almost 25 touches per match. He won 34 possessions in his first match against Vic Metro.

Matthew Leuenberger - Western Australia, 202cm, 92kg, East Perth
Ruckman with excellent mobility and agility, Leuenberger had 61 hit outs - the most in the championships. His marking in extremely wet conditions in game three was impressive for his team

Scott Gumbleton - Western Australia - 195cm, 92kg, Peel Thunder
Tall forward/defender, Gumbleton possess courage in the air and great hands. A mobile player, he presents in front and averaged seven marks to provide Western Australia with a target up forward.

Tom Hurley - South Australia, 178cm, 72kg, Sturt/Rostrevor College
Small midfielder, Hurley reads the game exceptionally well, has clean hands and is very courageous. A prolific ball-winner, he averaged 27 possessions for the championships. He was ranked equal first in the championships for the most disposals, which included 34 touches in the first match. He was a fine leader for his state team.

Lachlan Hansen - Victoria Country - 195cm, 92kg, Gippsland Power/Nar Nar Goon
Tall defender, Hansen is very quick and courageous. He is excellent with his strong marking and aggressive spoiling. Received heavy knock in game two and courageously bounced back to play in the final match in a key defensive role.

Mitch Thorp - Tasmania - 195cm, 85kg, Northern Bombers
Tall defender/forward, Thorp also plays as a tall midfielder. Strong overhead and mobile, he took 26 marks for the championships, had 17 hit outs and averaged 21 possessions. Among Tasmania's best player in all three matches, he won its most valuable player award

JAMES SELLAR- SOUTH AUSTRALIA-195cm
tall forward/ ruckman, sellar had a disapointing under 18's championships not making the all star team at the end. but was given the league's best and fairest award for division 1 in the under 16's championships and has proven a hot prospect in the upcoming draft alongside team mate bryce gibbs.

Leigh Adams - Victoria Metropolitan, 176cm, 83kg, Eastern Ranges/Woori Yallock
Small midfielder, Adams can play run-with rolls in the midfield or as a small forward. He is quick and reads the game well, while he averaged 24 disposals per match. He captained the Vic Metro side.

Nathan Brown - Victoria Country - 194cm, 89kg, North Ballarat Rebels/Ballarat
Left-footed tall defender, Brown can also go forward. Cool under pressure, he was voted MVP for his state and topped off consistent championship with 20 possessions and six marks in trying conditions.

Craig Bird - New South Wales/Australian Capital Territory, 177cm, 75kg, Nelson Bay
Small midfielder, Bird captained NSW/ACT and accumulated 69 disposals, averaging 23 touches. He had 18 hard-ball gets - the second best in the championships - and laid 17 tackles, which was equal third. He also led the championships in clearances, with 22 at an average of seven per match - four more than his nearest rival.

geelong already has what it wants with tom hawkins. would have been the number 1 pick easily without a doubt. he broke rhe contested marks record for devision 1 with 13, and would have broken the all time record kozi set bak in 200 if the last game wasnt in the pouring rain. taking into concideration this draft isa lot stronger and kozi was playing in devision 2. the way things are shapping out no one should get a priority draft pick meaning geelong will get the best deal out of any club in the AFL getting 2 players amongst the 10 best.

geelong will be looking to get a fast midfielder out of this draft seeing as we have enough tall slow solid midfielders bartel, ling, corey, enright, kelly. is about time we injected some pace into our midfield. althought there are a thew very temping talls in this draft wich we would not hesitate to pick up, i doubt we will get an early enough pick to get our hands on such as the likes of matthew leunberger the western australian ruckman.. been compared to dean cox and was a standout gun in the draft racking up 61 hitouts for the 3 games plus great overhead skills. scott gumbleton and lachlan hansen would also be onez we would go for, both tall mobile forwards/ defenders who can play key position, would be handy to have seeing as scarlett and harley are both at the 27- 29 year age of their careers.

Will Gumbleton and Hansen be gone though if we have a pick after 8?

Id put money on both being gone in the First 5. After our man , Gumbelton looks the strongest KPP available. Hansen , looks oh so versitile unlike a lot of our talls

geelong_crazy26 top ten
1. bryce gibbs
2. matthew Leuenberger
3. scott gumbleton
4. tom hurley
5. lachlan hansen
6. mitch thorp
7. james sellar
8. leigh adams
9. nathan brown
10. craig bird

Im not sure Id agree with your mids selection but as I said in another thread , I really think the talent this year is that deep , draft camp results may be enough push somebody right up or maybe down.
Id have to say most people think Selwood and Jetta would be players taken before Bird and Adams and probably Hurley.

If Selwood is quick enough and really Id want him to be at least as quick as GA29 he would have to interest us.Every review by educated eyes have as a pure footballer with great skills. We ave seen what a player like Stokes is capable of , well to me Jetta will be him plus more

I would probably give up express pace for someone with **** off good skills. I mean someone who can hit a goalpost from 50 with his opposite foot whilst someone has him in a headlock.

But yeah pace would be nice.

tom hurley in my mind will go top 5 without a doubt.. captained south australia and had the equal most disposals for the competition.. was a clear stand out and a fantastic leader, would be shocked iff he wasnt picked up in the top 5. no i doubt we would be able to get scott gumbleton he will go top 4 in this draft.. lachlan hansen had in interupted under 18's championships going down in the second game with a concussion i beleive.. may be wrong on that 1 cant quite re-call. i think he will probly go before pick 8 in the draft concidering top tall key players usualy do go very early because they are rare to find and stand out.. but with the depth of this draft who knows he might go around pick 8 but will be picked up in the top 10 for sure.. suposed to be the best draft ever in alot of opinions

Wouldn't it be great if we got Tom Hurley! Then we'd have Tom Hurley, Tom Harley and Tom Hawkey... I mean Hawkins...

hvnt really seen much of varcoe at all.. been injured half the season, would have been a top 5 pick in the draft iff he didnt injure himself mid way through the under 18 season( ankle injury). in my opinion geelong is lacking pace thru the midfield with to many tall midfielders such as ling bartel joel corey and so on who are all around the 186-190cm mark. most definately our forward line is a majour issue at the moment aswell but with hawkins coming nxt year under father son rule and hopefully nathan can come on ina thew years, there is some promise in the future for our forwards.

Small rover, lacks standout pace for his size, and misses far too many targets with his kicks.

Pass.
