Marcos starting 5th
Made a mistake at Turn 6 he said

What's with the rolled eyes ?
He's never had pole at WG in the Cup race. His average starting spot there has been 15th.

Poor Danica :p - wiped out at turn 1 on lap 1 by Ryan Truex, who decided to go sliding across the grass.

YES! YES! YES!

Marcos Ambrose goes back to back at Watkins Glen passing Kyle Busch and Brad Keselowski on an oil soaked track in by far the most exciting lap of racing I have ever witnessed.

I was worried Keselowski was going to punt Marcos off trying to prevent a pass after Edwards went around him in the Nationwide race yesterday, but I gained a new level of respect for him after his post-race interview; Class Act.:thumbsu:

Now lets grab that Wild Card!

Have to agree Texas:thumbsu: . One of the best laps of racing I have ever seen.
Have watched it about a dozen times already and still can't believe it.
Hats off to everyone on the team but what a brilliant drive by the man.
Get a bit of luck in the next couple of ovals and who knows.

Awesome race. Incredible that the same 3 were there in the dying moments like last year and again there was so much action. Keselowski was complimentary to Ambrose last year and again this year. One of the good ones is Brad.

What a ripper finish.Onya Marcos :thumbsu:
Ambrose certainly loves Watkins Glen. He's done 5 Sprint Cup races there and never finished outside the top 3.He's done 4 Nationwide races there and finished 13th,1st,1st & 1st.
Just needs get NASCAR to have more road races and he migh be able to make the Chase.

I'd say Ambrose and Keselowski are friendly off track. After last years race Ambrose went and did a burn out at turn 1 and BK pulled up along side and gave him the thumbs up for the win.

Just watched
OH MY GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD...think i just did my neck

Had a power outage on my Austar last night so only got to see the first half of the race. Biffle wins. Ambrose finished 5th but not a lot of change in the standings. Still in 17th, 41 points adrift of Newman who currently holds the 2nd wild card. 3 races to go until the chase so it is getting tough. Needs a win to get that 2nd wild card off Newman as long as Kyle, Gordon and Newman don't win one of the next 3. Another way would be for Kahne to make up points on Harvick and/or Stewart (33 and 34 points ahead of Kahne, 8th and 9th places) and force them out of the top 10. They have no wins this year so that would make Newman the first wild card, and Kyle the second wild card with 30 points separating Kyle, Gordon and Ambrose with one win each. Also don't want Logano to win another one.

On the race itself, Ambrose took out Smith when he chased his car up the track so he was lucky there. Earlier Martin was involved in a spectacular crash when leading, when he avoided a Montoya/Labonte incident and was turned by Kahne, went down track with wheels locked, through the pits and almost cut his car in half on a block wall. Couldn't believe how the wall sliced through the car like a knife through butter right behind the drivers seat. Any further forward and I reckon Martin was history.

They were on an ad break when it happened but the replay is incredible.

One of best races of the year :thumbsu:

Martin was lucky that the crew were so close it could of ended it a bad way.

Interesting, had a smilar thing with Foxtel myself.Went to watch the race this morning and it said "Part Rec".Thought,OH CRAP.Watched it and it had the whole race,so buggered if I know what happened. It might've been Foxtel doing an update with the Soho channel starting today.

Mark Martin was lucky,as were a couple of Kasey Kahnes pit crew. What's even luckier is there were no photographers standing there taking snaps.
Surely a few yellow water barriers should be on the concrete edge of the wall where the cars go to the garage, just like they have at pit enterance at tracks.

Good result for Ambrose. He's now 41pts behind Newman, who is the 1st in line with just 1 win outside the top 10.He does okay at Bristol [this week] and Richmond [3 weeks].He hasn't done well at Atlanta [2 weeks].

Oh and some idiot threw a shoe onto the track.
That was in the Nationwide race at Montreal

Those wacky Canucks will do anything to get their driver a win.Great to see JV punted on the last lap after his dispicable effort on Patrick Carpentier.JV even had a sook about it.
