I don't know yac.

Offering him an option when you'd think it would be the club that dictates whether he plays on does seem strange.

There may be a chance that a club near the top would want to add him to use him as a specialist sub or provide some hard edged versatility.

He can play some very effective football.

I'd hate to see him go. At the very least, offers a lot of leadership value to the club and is a great impact player. The type of fringe player that I'd like us to retain until he's really pushed out; I don't think we're there yet though.

NLM turns 30 on 18 Nov '12. I would be surprised if another club was interested. Hopefully we can retain for 1-2 seasons, but should be overtaken by recent picks/recruits, you would hope. Certainly still has influence on matches, and potentially one of the best impact subs in the game.

Glad he isn't simply being pushed out. He's gotten more effective over the years than less, and like many here I think he's a great impact player. If another club wants him they'd have to offer him more, so I think EFC are trying to do the best for him as well. I'd like to see him become one of the runners, just because he seems a great indigenous leader and clubman.

Agree with all calls that Nat Rat is probably in the top 3 in the league as sub! Great impact player, when comes on in the 3rd qrt most guys abit tired he finds his way into the game pretty quickly! Never takes a backward step either which is probably my most favourite feature of his game! If he didn't go on yeah I think it would be good to see him get a spot as a runner alongside Mark McVeigh, how good would it be to have those to running around next year giving instructions! Would think every player would listen pretty smartly if they knew whats good for them (or risk copping a swift left hook whilst getting dragged:D) & being fresh out of the game they would be perfectly up to speed with it & game plans etc....

He could play every game as sub next year...unlikely due to match fitness reasons but he is magic as the sub!

Re: 42. Nathan Lovett-Murray

I said at the start of the year (2007) he will be the next andrew mcleod. im sticking 2 my guns
Yep, still sticking to my guns

no real surprises here, would have heard something earlier if he wasn't staying on next year.

Still think that him having a Carr (Matthew and Josh) one on each hand against Fremantle a few years back now is both an NLM and Essendon highlight. One of the better 4 week suspensions.
BEST EVER
