If highlights meant much of anything Brayden Sier would be a Brownlow medalist by now. Could go back over the years and check out great TAC highlights of plenty of dud AFL footballers I'm sure. At the very least you need to watch a full game I think to get much of an idea about anything.

I remember Hine saying they just decided the day before the draft to take Sidebottom ahead of Beams and that it was a very hard choice for them to make. Beams ended up lasting to pick 30 anyway, it just happens.

Think Cal Twomey had Murphy before Stephenson in his phantom draft. Great result!!!

Yep, Twomey had Murphy in his top 20. That he dropped all the way down to 39 seems a huge win for us. Loved some of those highlights.

Yeah but Johno was not rated as high by draft time and was pick 70 odd.

I'm confident noting Hine and co's early ID of him. Beams all over again.

It does kind of put me off though when the commentators on the coverage use the word 'raw' to describe our players.

No, Marsh was a very raw project type pick. Murphy looks young and will need time to fill out, but in terms of skill set he looks much further along than Marshy did when drafted.
