New facebook layout

What's everyone's thoughts on it?

It's definitely worse than the old layout and I miss the live feed, much easier to keep up to date on things.

I just don't see the point in why they have changed it again, the last one was easily the best and I don't see any major improvements thus far.

I didn't like the last one they had until I had the chance to get used to it, so I'll give this one a chance, but it seems like they have gotten rid of quite a few functions. I want more options, not less.

I was walking through the local shopping center today and heard 2 girls behind me discussing their outrage about how shit the new format is. They sounded genuinely angry. Was pretty hilarious.

This is exactly my sentiments.

Once I've read the news feed, it just seems there's nothing else to check. I didn't like the previous one at first, but that's because it seemed a little complicated and had more options, but once I got used to it, I thought it was great.

This one is for the tip because it is bland and has less options.

So what does everyone want from their Facebook experience?

I want less apps. I used to play around with some, but I stopped that. I want a way to communicate with friends, post and see some photos and join a few interest groups. That's about it.

The original facebook layout took a little bit to get used to so I'm reserving my judgement for a few weeks. It is definitely no where near as bad as some people are making out. Why do people always have to bash new things .... is it cool?

It seems to have less options. I liked the live feed in the last layout because usually a friend who i wanted to see stuff from would do a swagger of stuff at once, and i could check it all out. The new one seems to have less in the way of photos and feeds, and more random status crap like twitter. I dont care about status'. I rarely write one, and i ignore most. I use facebook to chat with friends and check photos, and this new layout seems to have made that harder, as i cant differetiate between wall posts and status' and sh*t.

I don't like the front page now but I'll get used to it.

What I really don't like is that everything looks the same. I liked that Status updates were bolded, wall posts has a box around it etc. Its all just too white and similar all over now.

Very rarely do you get people applauding a change of layout on any websites, though you get accustomed to them eventually. Hated this BF layout at first, but now I find the old one archaic in comparison.

Then again, there's the layout changes that can kill a site, ala Gamespot of a couple years ago. New IGN layout was shit then and is shit now, after the old one was brilliant and extremely simple to use.

Also not a fan of the lack of differentiation between wall posts, status updates etc. Hopefully I will get used to it but I was a fan of the previous format as soon as it came out so I'm not sure.

Status updates are the most self-indulgent, useless part of Facebook IMO. I don't want emphasis shifted onto them just so that Facebook can be more like Twitter.

I also enjoyed the live feed, I can't be bothered going through my friends list and going into people's profiles to see what they've been up to.

The news feed doesn't automatically refresh for me... is it the same for everyone else? Now I have to refresh ever so often.

I don't mind the apps. I've deleted all of the ones I don't use, so I now have 3-4 (Birthday calendar, iLike, etc).

I mainly use FB to see what others are up to, so the live feed was great. This seems far too focused on status updates as many have said, I wanna see all the other stuff.

Yep agree with this. I wrote on a friends wall and it now comes up on my home page with both names and what i wrote. Why would i need to read that? I already know what i wrote.

The worst part of this change is the fact you can't differentiate between status updates and wall posts. Just a simple colour code would of been nice, surely its not that hard. Other than that, I don't really like it now, but over time, I will probably get used to the other features.

I prefer the previous layout myself. I liked that you could get the live feed easily, along with the status update and picture tabs and so on. The previous layout was more informative, and you could see more of you upcoming events and so on as well. I'll probably get used to the new set-up, and I haven't been amongst the many that I know of that seem to be complaining, but I definitely prefer the previous one.

What the shit is twitter? I swear to god every time I actually bother joining one of these things it only takes a couple months before everyone switches to a new one.

Also it's slightly worse than before but meh life goes on.

I have a feeling this is going to make the status updates even more annoying because its the easiest way to get people to notice them.
