Almost every decision the Liberal Party takes from here needs to be seen through a twenty five year old's eyes. It's all very well for someone my age demand that they move further right but that's not going to impress younger people who aren't voting for them because they offer nothing for them.
All the voices pushing Price as a leader are the same ones that desperately tried to sell Peter Dutton as PM material when in reality you have two dull, incurious and fairly unintelligent people who are well out of their depth.Lib's have to be very careful. They run the risk of the WA liberals. They get smashed, then pick someone entirely unlikeable, who can't win back any seats and they get smashed further.
They need to pick someone likeable, even if they aren't ideologically "pure" otherwise they have Angus Taylor and Price leading them to a half dozen seats at the next election and oblivion.

Yeah it's the faceless men, that the libs like to accuse Labour of being beholden to. They want someone they can control. All the voices pushing Price as a leader are the same ones that desperately tried to sell Peter Dutton as PM material when in reality you have two dull, incurious and fairly unintelligent people who are well out of their depth.
Need the second-coming of Don Chipp to fill that space that the Libs have vacated. It's no secret i don't like the liberals, but having a viable, healthy opposition is important in a democracy. They really run the risk of becoming a rump party if they continue down the path they are setting.
Jesus...
Tim Wilson is about to put his hand up...
Meh, why not?
A moderate, openly gay party leader might be the final kibosh on the Libs and Sky/Murdoch just proper setting fire to each other.
I'm with Andrew Scott, we never hear about openly heterosexual accountants.Meh, why not?

Though perhaps still relevant for LNP politicians (as a sign of relative diversity)I'm with Andrew Scott, we never hear about openly heterosexual accountants.

Andrew Scott is right – it’s time to retire the phrase ‘openly gay’ | Ryan Gilbey
The actor’s suggestion in a roundtable interview is more common sense than provocation, the phrase speaking to a homophobic media that no longer calls the shotswww.theguardian.com
I think they mean a moderate using Matt Canavan or Jacinta Price as their baseline. An IPA shill is not a "moderate". Heck I read today that Jane "Chinese Australians are CCP spies!" Hume is considered a "moderate"
The only real moderate I can think of in recent Lib memory was Bridget Archer, the rest are conservative reactionaries.
Solid and appropriate use of the word "tepid"Littleproud has fended off Coal Boy Canavan's takeover bid so tepid net zero support stays for now
I can see Ley getting the vote and then white anted from day 1

Aka as a ScomoI wonder if Ted O’Brien can do a Steven Bradbury.
I read somewhere that her choice to sit with the Liberals rather than the Nationals could deny the Nationals a funded party whip because the Nationals lost a senator and would be down to 4 and the party whip funding kicks in at a minimum of 5 senators.I wonder if having Price on his ticket will be seen as a net negative for Taylor in the end where outside of the Gina faction in the party she's viewed as disloyal and untrustworthy.

A gay man leader and an indigenous deputy leaderYeah, I imagine if the Hard Right don't get their way now they'll undermine Ley until they do.
Also, Wilson is in the Moderate faction of the Liberals, so when they're talking about a moderate option, I imagine that's with a capital M. I think it's fair to say some in the Hard Right would be outraged at the prospect of a gay man leading them (as opposed to the normal response of taking issue issue with such an enormous prick leading them).
Oh boy. Is this actually confirmed? DUmb and Dumber were fighting it out, so it was never going to be promising whoever won.Sussssssssan Ley has been elected leader of the dead man walking party.
