If MM is as stubborn as he was in the Semi and refuses to tag Nick Dal then we may as well shut up shop now. Please Mick, apply a hard tag on Dalsanto and run down the bloody guts.

And who do we have to tag the likes of Dal Santo? We could use Wellingam, he did a great job against Gablett last year but got killed in the Nab Cup. We could gamble and use Barham as a tagger but I doubt MM would do something like that. Man on Man ftw!

St.Kilda's zone is going to give us fits, just likes Hawthorn's last year. We simply have no answer for a properly implemented zone, and I can't see us winning this week as a result. They're in stellar form, their midfield will likely smash ours (Dal Santo, Hayes, Ball, Montagna, Goddard) and our skills are terrible at the moment (hence the zone won't be beaten).

Not trying to be negative, just realistic, Saints by 50+.

I think for the most part our skills have been good. Just a few blokes let us down on more occasions than others.
I think our midfield can match theirs. It just depends if Leon, Pendlebury and Lockyer can have the same effect on the game as they did Friday nite.

Our obvious weakness has to be our forward line at the moment. We have to make their backs accountable and worry about our forwards.
My idea would be to play possibly Thomas as a defensive forward on Gram, who i feel is the most dangerous back they have. He can and will kick goals. Or Possibly Lockyer. Who can hurt Gram

Force Dawson to Rocca. For memory, Dawson hasnt faced a big forward this season yet...Would love to see how Dawson reacts if Rocca manages to get an early one on him (dont hold your breath!!). But i can see Lyon forcing Blake on Rocca.

Force them to play one on one. Malthouse has to dictate the terms early on. Dont allow them to play a lose man (like he did in the Semi).

The midfield looks evenly matched for both teams. I cant see either side being too defensive on the other. I certainly dont think their mids are that much better than ours.
Goddard may be the one to cause as most trouble. Again, someone who can hurt him going forward, has to play on him.

Their forward line:
Harry O- Milne
N.Brown - Kosi
Presti - Riewoldt ------- Maxwell needs to chop out and help presti out as much as possible. Concede Riewoldt marks on the wings, just not in range of penetrating the 50

I am assuming Cox and Shaw will be back (from all reports), so they needs to be damaging like Gram is. Make someone accountable for them.

I thought Corrie and Wellingham showed enough to keep their spots. They both possess pace to worry the Saints.

We need to dictate the terms to the Saints. Force them to play a brand of footy they arent comfortable with. Dont allow them to play lose men, in particular S.Fisher.
I am optimistic of a victory...But it depends on which Collingwood comes out to play

Out: Barham, Toovey, Macaffer (unless Medhurst gets up), Beams (inj?)
In: Rocca, Shaw, Cox, Sidebottom(for the sake of the team and my SC :o)

But yeah if a Collingwood mod could ban Nexus that'd be great!
I think the entire St Kilda board would agree with this notion

Dawson will get his shot. He faced off against Big Bald Bubblehead Barry first round and did quite well. In fact he provided the highlight of the match for me:

Man on man would be fine, but for that to work everyone has to play their part. If one person slacks off it makes it very hard for everyone else. Also i think Barham could be a very good tagger in a few seasons.

Any chance of Medhurst playing? Also the person who started this thread isn't a St Kilda supporter. Ignore whatever she has to say.

Should be a great game!!
I have a cocky sainters support who is on cloud 9 at the moment....
Time for him to fall I think! ;) haha
Although its good to see them up there.
I would rather see the saints up there than a few other teams.....

I rate the bulldogs higher than Collingwood and we took care of them easily should have been a 10 goal win if we had kicked straight and not of slacked off late. So unless they pull out an effort like they did agaisnt geelong last season i cant see the Saints losing.

The best thing is we have them thinking they are the real deal.. We are sitting 3-3 losing 2 games by less than a kick and have been playing like shit all year, even against north I think we struggled to click...

This is the perfect game to find some form and confidence...

We could easily throw the mad Barman onto Del Santo

Goddard will love having Thomas sitting next to him all night, run off him all you want...

Gram can babysit Lockyer who kicked 4 last week, again run off him all you want...

Presti onto Roo
Maxwell onto the resting ruck
Brown onto Kosi
Toovey onto Milne
Shaw can play on whatever dud they put back there
HarryO can goto snyder or whatever the **** his name is..

Lets just hope Davis, Thomas, Cloke, Rocca, Lockyer, Medhurst and Macaffer can kick straight, **** i wish Didak and Jack where playing, because we will need 15 goals for the chocolates.

This is a game they expect to win, everyone expects the saints to win :D

Saints are that smoking hot chick you always talk about, then when you finally get into bed with her she is just a massive let down.

All hype and potential on the exterior but you get her home and into bed for the true test of how she stacks up only to be let down when she lays there and starfishes.

Your assumption is based on the fact that you rely on them continually falling over and that a flag is never going to happen.

But Geelong broke their run of bad luck with GF's and flags, and eventually St Kilda will do it too. Whether it be this yeam or another in the future, it will eventually happen. Same with us too. The old stereotypes dont last forever

lmao

It was six more scoring shots. My mistake. Rushed behinds are counted as scoring shots, and Collingwood also had more out of bounds on the full. Most of those rushed behinds would have been scoring shots anyway, and that is why they were rushed and counted as scoring shots. They kicked 17 goals and only 4 behinds which is unheard of. Collingwood's 9 goals 20 behinds was very wasteful. In that match, Collingwood without Didak and Shaw were the youngest team to win a final the previous week since Brisbane in 2000. It was always going to be difficult to beat St.Kilda for a third time in one season. In both of the earlier matches, Collingwood had more possessions, more marks, and more tackles than St.Kilda, and the second match was the week following the suspensions to Didak and Shaw.

Do you know why you guys kicked 20 odd behinds?

Because we forced you wide, into the pockets..

Watch the game, and you might discover this :)

LOL!!!!!

How about YOU watch a game. We go wide nearly every time we go inside 50! That's our gameplan!

Fact is, when Jack Anthony is even missing set shots... you know it isn't your night in front of the sticks!

Looks like old Nexus can't handle his p!ss, similar post on the 'dogs board at the same hour. Please disgregard, should be a tight game.

Shades of 2004?? A few more years experience, better depth, structures and game plan now.

Still Pies by 83 points.

Did you actually read my post 'lmao'?

In THAT final, we forced you wide.

Tool

So, what you are saying, is that you forced us into playing wide, even though for the last 3 years we have had a game plan that plays wide?

Hmm, strange.

You dont quite get it do you?

look ill make it simple
We have played a wide gameplan for 10 years
last year was apart of that 10 years
you didnt force us wide, we just play wide
what your side did was chop off our chocking inside 50s all credit to you
work with our already wide gameplan

no please go back to your own board

You're a dill. It's Collingwood's game plan to play wide. St.Kilda didn't force them wide. Collingwood were at fault for their own poor kicking at goal that night, and it was very costly.
