I know they’ve been an easy target in previous years, but let’s be clear, Resevoir have knocked off Kilmore this year while losing to Kinglake and Mernda by smaller margins than they did to Epping yesterday.

Dismissing Epping’s win and calling reservoir one of the bottom teams is inaccurate IMO
Speaking about stars nearly losing to west.

Massive win by the Lakers over the Demons today. The Lakers would be ruing the one point loss a few weeks back to Kilmore? Win that and they are a game clear in 3rd spot
Where to for Mernda, again recruited well getting Evans and Gregson late but under massive pressure now to make finals

Stars win again but full credit to the Hawks who made the game much closer than what we all probably thought

Epping over power Reservoir and again look like only challenger to stars and power but as I mentioned last week have no depth at all and if get injuries drop away too quickly

Ivanhoe and Kilmore do as expected and increase their respective percentages, which might become all important at end of round 18.
Watched yesterday’s game, well done to WH. Decent crowd and a close contest. I was surprised by WH, they have some handy players and probably have underperformed this year looking at previous scores.

Huge effort from West to push Stars all the way yesterday.

Lakers give Mernda a hiding up the mountain to continue to put forward their case as a top 5 lock.

Ressa much improved this year but Epping get it done in the end and keep up a good run of recent form with a healthy list.

Hoers - slow out for the blocks but got going after that to record a good win at home and get a couple more back next week

Kilmore did what they needed too and continue their improved season in 2025. A huge game next week v the Hoes @ Kilmore.

West have picked up a very good Backman called Noah Zorodziniak.
Moves well looks fit so hopefully stays there for a while.

Heidelberg West didn’t look like a team sitting 9th yesterday. Unsure what to get from it. Were stars just really bad or have West started to click with all of their recruits.

Reservoir played on 50/50 yesterday, Cotchin a 6 pointer. Poor Lalor, a by product of the advantages NFNL have given Reservoir ontop of the obvious salary cap rorts 😂😂😂

Will be great to see Cotch tear it up against probably the worst club in Melbourne

Pub rumour: I was told that Lalor offered points or cap options and took cap as they felt like that is were they needed some 'support'.

As for Ressa - the only thing that was poor about that decision was the NFNL refusing to advise other clubs in a transparent manner. Apart from that good luck to them and the season they are having.

Played Juniors at Reservoir.

Pretty sure he played his majority at WPL before moving into the higher ranks from U15’s
That’s what I thought. Definitely trying to falsify the facts to slide him in as a 1 pointer. Needs 40+ games at junior level with Reservoir to qualify as such so don’t see the mustangs getting this one under. Maybe a recruits or 2 might be kind enough to step aside for the day to allow the 7 points to fit.

There is a photo doing the rounds on FB with him in a Reservoir jumper as a small child.
https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1ASNALFBQ3/?mibextid=wwXIfr A small child that built mud castles there.

Lack of sufficient record keeping for under 9s and below might see Reservoir trying to pull it on technicality records weren’t kept - a basic net search showed he moved to WPL from under 9s.
Didn’t boomer end up needing to be points based on the lack of record keeping with Preston RSL being aligned with North Heidelberg?

You need to play 40 games at the affiliated junior club.
Michael Hurley is in his third year back with Macleod but is still a 3 pointer. Even though he played six senior games prior to the points system being introduced.
He didn't get to 40 games with Macleod Juniors

From Cotchin's book, From The Heart...

"I played my first match when I was only 4 and a half for the Reservoir Colts under 9s against kids who were twice my age"
...

"I played with Reservoir Colts for a few years before moving to West Preston when I was about nine years old. That was where Dad had played his senior footy."

40 games worth? DV juniors back in the day were 12-14 games per year.

You will find there is no record keeping on DVFL history with any fixtures under under 9s. West Preston and Reservoir had teams in under 11s in 98,99,00. Most evidence suggests Cotchin moved to WPL from under 9s so dont know how he can be a 1 point player at Reservoir with no confirmation of 40 or more games. (He wouldve been to old for under 9s after 1999.
