Saw them at the Perth Arena like 3 years ago. Was a great show. Axel threw his mic into the crowd at the end of the show which apparently knocked some guys tooth out.

I just booked to go to Las Vegas on Tuesday and to come back on Saturday(my birthday). I haven't been out much since mum died and since my brother is there already and will be there until Wednesday, I decided to take advantage of a $39 flight from Chicago and a $124 flight back. My room at Ballys is comped for all four nights so it's just the damn resort fee and tax that I have to pay. I had a comped room at Paris for the first three nights, but Friday night was $161. That's more gambin' money for me to lose! This will probably be my last trip to Vegas forever after about 25 trips out there the past 16 years.

Of course, if I win a bazillion $ as I expect I will, I shall give some of the money to the club if they could name a urinal or something at the Whitten Oval "Chicago1" in my honour.

I'll probably hang around there or Paris or Planet Hollywood with a side trip to Cosmo. I'm finding walking rather difficult at times. Perhaps one of those electric chairs might be best to make me feel like I have another foot in the grave. Having an early birthday dinner at Gordon Ramsay Steak at Paris on Tuesday since my brother and sister-in-law leave Wednesday. I was supposed to go there for my 60th four years ago and see my former student Gotye at House of Blues at Mandalay Bay, but we had to postpone our trip due to the flu.

I'm here sitting in my room in Vegas, preparing for a morning flight tomorrow, Saturday, my birthday. One of my long held wishes came true on Tuesday. My brother and sister-in-law, who were in Vegas until Wednesday, took me out for an an early birthday dinner at Gordon Ramsay Steak at Paris. I had been looking forward to going for four years. In 2012 for my 60th birthday my brother and I were supposed to fly to Vegas, eat at Steak and see Gotye(a former student of mine) at Mandalay Bay's House of Blues. Wally had invited us as his guest since we had gone to his Chicago concert with my brother's two teenage kids. Unfortunately my brother and I both were sick at the time and had to cancel all of our plans.

The meal at Steak was delicious. I ,of course, had to have the Beef Wellington. It lived up to expectations. Tonight I ate at the Wicked Spoon Buffet at Cosmopolitan. It was my birthday treat to myself. Frog legs, ceviche, roast duck and a ton of desserts. I don't eat a lot, but I make sure I sample most of the foods I would not make at home.

So back to Chicago tomorrow to prepare the house for sale, pack up my belongings to ship to Melbourne and decide what date in November I'll be leaving. I will be here until the election and Veteran's Day, Nov.11. A memorial brick will be laid in honour of my late father in the new Veterans Memorial in our town, not far from the cemetery where he and mum rest together.

Oh yeah... I'll be here long enough to see the World Series. I don't want to jinx them, but you know...

Think our shot at a title is over with City, United and Chelsea back in business, only one fit established centre back in Koscielny who is a bit shaky, and no decent centre forward.

Bullish about what Xhaka and Perez could do together, but it'd require a bit of an overhaul from Wenger. That said, buying Xhaka, Shkodran and Perez in one summer might be an indication that he's willing to compromise in his final year.
