Interesting to know why most footy pundits expect Richmond to get back up the ladder. It is an ageing listcwith reliance on its older players (Cotchin, Martin, Reiwoldt, Lynch).

Reckon they are similar to both Geelong and Port - both are ageing lists that rely on their older players to get them thru but in the end will falter when it counts.

Personally, think Brisbane are in the sweet spot to challenge Melbourne.

Very different issues and one was an AFL investigation and penalty. What you should ask is if De Goey was on our list, how many games would we have suspended him for? It wouldn't have been zero, that is for sure. We do this to ourselves so can hardly complain about it. At least historically.

Just listened to that audio and surely that's not the sole reason. There's got to be more.

Excluding us, They have to be the most frustrating side to support. Every year, I think they can somehow make a run. They have a decent list with a lot of talent on it. But every year they just disappoint and fade into nothingness. This is why as a side, they offer the competition nothing. Same with North Melbourne. They have die hard fans, but if you put both those sides die hard fans into Marvel they'd still have room for 10k general public ticket sales. waste of space of a side.

This is the issue, they don't. They have one genuine A-grader in Steele (you could mount a case for Marshall), a potential one in King, but there's a whole bunch of C graders with not a lot of young talent coming through. They topped up a few years ago with the likes of Hill, Crouch, Hannebery, Butler and Jones and it's backfired massively, much like Brisbane going all out for a flag at the end of '09 which set them back 10 years in terms of playing finals. The Saints went nine years without, and look to be down and out again for a while again.

I think you can go to the deeper midfield lists - GWS, GCS - and trade for quality. That's where Steele came from.

Sports people get the 'good bloke discount' no matter what they've done. If you're a good player you'll get away with it (see De Goey). Shouldn't happen.

What's especially never made sense is people like Wayne Carey joining commentary. He doesn't need to be there, plenty of other commentators to choose from, and has literally assaulted women. Surely he should go along with Morris and several others

He has been playing like that for years in our back yard. 25/26 is young in anyone's standards. Would be more value than Berg and Frampton or even Fog. Can play anywhere around the ground.

Reckon Hardwick is a bit like Pyke and Craig in that they found a way to play and win (except that Hardwicks method stood up when it mattered)

But when that style of play doesn’t produce anymore, there’s nothing left in the bag of tricks.
