Because he was continually getting caught by the police doing it. First drink driving, then having coke and then more pictures leaked to the media after that.

Like West Coast did with Ben Cousins, Chris Mainwaring, Chad Fletcher, Daniel Kerr etc?Out of interest, if his on field performances are fine - what does it matter?

Eddie Betts kept him on the straight and narrow here, no surprise Betts is now at Geelong and Stengle is living with the Betts family I think I read somewhere?I never denied he was a problem child, but when he’s a problem child who doesn’t perform at one club, and goes to another club, performs and is no longer a problem child, don’t you have any questions about what the second club has that the first club doesn’t?
Reckon Hardwick is a bit like Pyke and Craig in that they found a way to play and win (except that Hardwicks method stood up when it mattered)
But when that style of play doesn’t produce anymore, there’s nothing left in the bag of tricks.
Not a great look when you are rebuilding a young team.Because he was continually getting caught by the police doing it. First drink driving, then having coke and then more pictures leaked to the media after that.
Our midfield flopped in those games, makes it hard for a forward half.right on queue. You're such a dimwit. We won 15 games and lost 7 from memory. You ignore the 7 even thought it's those kind of games that will be repeated when sh*t gets real late in the year.
Maybe being dumped by us and having to spend the year in the SANFL where got him to clean up his act like we hoped it would if he had of take that option for us? Suddenly realising you gotta work a regular 9-5 as well as playing football and taking a massive paycut on top of all that makes a guy realize he's blowing a chance of a life-time.I never denied he was a problem child, but when he’s a problem child who doesn’t perform at one club, and goes to another club, performs and is no longer a problem child, don’t you have any questions about what the second club has that the first club doesn’t?
It's possible he simply just didn't get the message until we sacked himI never denied he was a problem child, but when he’s a problem child who doesn’t perform at one club, and goes to another club, performs and is no longer a problem child, don’t you have any questions about what the second club has that the first club doesn’t?
Yes, needs to be babysat... which the Cats with their list are in a better position to do.Eddie Betts kept him on the straight and narrow here, no surprise Betts is now at Geelong and Stengle is living with the Betts family I think I read somewhere?
I mean they weren't with us were they ??Out of interest, if his on field performances are fine - what does it matter?
2 clubs were aware of his issues and was discarded by both. It's possible he simply just didn't get the message until we sacked him

Again, the only ones stupid enough to get caught. We're a multi-million $ business, we couldn't have supported him after Betts left? It's like the Vince/Goodwin relationship again. Each of his indiscretions were when the club wasn't training. The DUI was in COVID lockdown and the cocaine issues at end of year. And one was courtesy of degenerate mates. To me that screams a solveable problem. But we chose to go another way. And if you think that only Brad Crouch and Tyson Stengle were the only AFC players racking up lines like they're going out of business then I've got a bridge to sell you.
Didn't try.... Did.So, we're all lauding Paddy McCartin for making his way back to the AFL and everything but, like... what if he gets another head knock? Will he... be okay?
Also, didn't he try to full-on punch someone on-field last year?

You're one of the weirder posters on here, it's like you've got 2 modes. Reasonable and full on flog
The problem with that was, and still is... The purity of said clearance. Lots of stationary hacks forward.Nah, check the stats, we were never beaten badly in terms of clearances and contested possessions.
Yes. We go softer on him because (potential) talent, he doesn't get the message, potential not realised. We go hard, he refuses the offer... reality bites. Maybe it sucks that Geelong are the beneficiaries (assuming he stays on the straight & narrow), but that's not a reason to assume we shouldn't have done what we did, in a genuine effort to straighten him out. It's possible he simply just didn't get the message until we sacked him

We've probably replaced him with Rachele to be honestI supported it at the time but the decision to push Stengle out is not aging well. The fact we essentially replaced him with Rowe, who looks unlikely to have a long AFL career, also adds a bit of salt to the wound.
