He's very much an outside player who every good team needs, they are just more reliant on their team being good to be able to play well as their team mates get the ball out to them.I don't think he's that good.

I can only comment on stadiums that my kids are involved in (they both ref), and they regularly have umpire coaches at games in addition to the court supervisors. I'm talking high level, NBL/WNBL and in some cases Olympic referee's.Don't for a second think the court supervisors have solved anything.
The state of umpiring basketball in South Australia needs improvement and has for a while. Too many umpires do not understand basic travelling rules, particularly with pivoting and stepthrough moves. Foul calls are too inconsistent for each team with the two umpires at each end having different interpretations. Leading to player frustration.
A lot of court supervisors aren't visible enough around the courts too. Most of the time if there's a complaint they'll blindly back the umpire. It's good to back in staff members at times, but they won't want to hear the constructive side and help the umpire improve. Therefore, it just goes round and round in circles with the focus on player acceptance as opposed to constructive improvement of decisions. I've had some scenarios when the court supervisor hasn't understood basic FIBA rules.
My experiences are from a players perspective and I'm not sure what happens behind the scenes with court supervisors and feedback to umpires. I assume there's something in place.
I think BasketballSA have the right processes on paper. The green shirt system for ref training is good, in theory a court supervisor should work. Unfortunately the clientele in the supervisor roles, in my experiences, isn't at the level it needs to be.
NBA has different rules to FIBA (international basketball) which is why the USA team can be vulnerable to an early loss in big tournaments.I need a lesson in this one too. After watching NBA and then watching other leagues, I’ve never been able to figure it out
NBA doesn't use FIBA rules which is the common international ruleset. It's why you sometimes see confused NBA players at the Olympics.

Isn't this the same thing Jackson Trengove went through when he was known to be going to WB?Refusing to sign up and gets a punishment?
I don't think he's that great anyway, another massively overrated one down there.
Lebron can , rookies can't
NBA rules are to designed make the game more of a spectacle to my knowledge, but I don't know the ins-and-outs of it.

They'd rather have someone travel and do a huge dunk than follow the proper rules.
Sorry to be that guy, I know Amon is the top one, who is the bottom one?
Obviously someone who Kenny has kept in the team over Amon but who?
Rumour going around that he has informed PAFC of his intentions to request move to Saints and is the reason he has been dropped.
Amon has grown tired of the toxic supporter culture at Port Adelaide.
Is that you Caro? LOLJust change the first bit to say "It's my understanding that he has informed PAFC of his intentions blah blah blah"
You will then be eligible for a job at Crocoshit Media.
Finally a use for the power stance!
Only if you dunk. Lay it up, and they'll call you.

Good to hear the level of coaching going on. I've found that NBL1 (what I like to refer to as ABA) umpires are a decent standard and particularly are much better at calling offensive fouls as opposed to always calling blocking.I can only comment on stadiums that my kids are involved in (they both ref), and they regularly have umpire coaches at games in addition to the court supervisors. I'm talking high level, NBL/WNBL and in some cases Olympic referee's.
There are always going to be different levels of abilities for umpires in all sports, and always a shortage to go around. You also have to remember that with fouls, refs can often be blocked by players to see some contact. This is one of the first thing my boys noticed when they began their reffing careers and then understood as players why some calls are missed.
Also remember their are multiple courts going at once and only one supervisor so they cannot watch every game.
I'm a bit defensive of refs/umpires, all 4 in my family are involved in numerous sports as officials.
No current season stats available
Apparantly this is an okay post if the suspension is for hitting an umpire
His brother should suspend him for dissenting umpire decisions & sending a poor message.Chris Scott: "Most of the time when I'm really over the top in the box, it's in reaction to something positive".
