I would back Fog, he has one of the best goal shot accuracy in the AFL.
Not in 2023 he didn't - 34 goals 23 behinds is nothing to write home about.

His accuracy from 2018-20 was amazing - 26 goals 5 behinds.
His accuracy in 2022 was pretty good - 33 goals 14 behinds.

In 2023? His accuracy was middle of the pack, and no better. He kicked some incredible set shots this year, but he also missed a lot of short range gimmes.

** Those numbers are for all scoring shots, not just set shots.

Still ranked 6th of all current players in the AFL with a minimum of 50 scoring shots.

You can continue youre hatred of him because he made you look foolish, but my belief is still correct. One year does not change anything, thats still around 60% which is well above AFL average.

Down from 1st a few years ago.

His goal kicking accuracy was outstanding in the past, and as recently as 2022 it was exceptional. 2023 was a relatively poor year, particularly by his high standards.

I don't hate him now, an never hated him - despite what you may think. As for making me look foolish - he improved by doing the things I said he needed to work on (plus seeing a shrink, which I didn't identify as a need - but neither did any of the BF ignorentsia). How does that make me look foolish?

He is on a huge contract, taking him out of their list would be a huge salary cap relief for Port.

On their board, they suggested a 2nd rounder. I wouldnt even pay that, as Port benefit the most by losing him given his output recently and the progress in the midfield by Butters, Rozee and JHF.
Port are really good at trading out players that are cooked ... but sometimes they trade in cooked players too...

No Vader. No no no no.

You wanted him out.

You wanted him gone from the squad.

You thought he couldn't improve.

That he was never going to be AFL standard.

You said he'd had enough time to show more.

That is why you looked ... and look foolish.

You need to actually just say that you were WRONG, completely WRONG in every way when it comes to Fog.

100% agree here.

Pretty clear from the Fog thread, that Vader has been against him from the get go.

More chance of Vader missing the next cruise.

Travis Boak re-signed. Good bloke.

Oh Essendon. Their team is full of first round draft picks based on the ask of leaving players. With that much talent, why can’t they win a final in 20 years?

We've gone beyond the dog returning to its own vomit at this point. You've processed eating that, and are rolling around in the result.

God you're full of it.

Do you want me to go get the quotes again? You know they're there, why bother lying?

What amuses me, reading this thread, are all the calls for Himmelberg to be dropped - but so few calling for Fogarty's head. Don't get me wrong - Himmelberg was awful, and definitely deserves to be dropped - but Fogarty was equally revolting. Both of these players are absolutely deplorable, and so far off being AFL standard that it's not funny, yet only one of them is singled out for "fire him into the sun" type comments.
I don't want to keep either of them, but given the choice - it's Himmelberg over Frampton, every day of the week, and twice on game day.

In Fogarty, Billy & Berg we have 3 donkeys, none of whom have a long term future at AFL level. The tragedy is that we can't replace them all at the same time, and TT is our only other KPF under the age of 30. It's a diabolical situation that we find ourselves in.

Given the lack of alternatives, it's likely that we will be forced to select some of them for far more games than their talent actually justifies (I'd argue all 3 are already past that marker)... but they should/will all be replaced as soon as it is possible for us to do so.

If a player shows no signs of improvement after 4 years and 34 games, there's a reasonably good expectation that improvement will not be forthcoming.

It is annoying that fog couldn't keep up that strike rate. I always felt like it would happen.

Im sure he carried injury this year, which saw him overcompensate to get power behind his kick.
His usually perfect technique was so obviously affected, theres no other explaination IMO. Something so honed doesnt just develop lasting flaws over night.
Reckon a fit Fog gets back to that strike rate.

I started to pick when he was going to miss. I think it was mainly in the head: sometimes he just didn't apply his technique and hurried to take the shot, missing most of the time.
