Sellar >>>> the guy Neeld got over from Geelong's scrap heap.

Gillies. :thumbsu:

But yea, at least he was in the VFL, where Sellar and MacDonald should have been also.

I understand the knock on him was that for a smart guy he was a dumb footballer but he racked up the touches when we played him ruck relieving in the backline. Fair enough if you want to trade him because you've got a prime Jeff White already but in our situation it seemed odd.
I think Neeld's knock was that he was a lazy trainer. Maybe the move fixed him, or maybe it was just bad coaching.

Joel MacDonald and James Sellar starting in the D50, may god have mercy on Mark Neeld's soul
James Sellar was a good full back. I never understood why we didn't give him another year/rookie him.

I've got a feeling tonight won't be the massacre people are predicting

Games like this always have a let down

Swans by 10 goals IMO (hope I'm wrong, would love 190 to be taken)

From memory a big had to go and Pedo was saved by his long contract. Funny how that turned around, I thought Sellar was the better option at the time. Pedo has come a long way under Roos.

New coaches tend to have that one week boost but that's an awful team against a very good one. I took the -72 points.

I would agree, but with their three best midfielders out - Carlton just isn't an AFL standard side.

No doubt it's a horrible team, but is it 186 bad (including the player revolt) AND are the Swans Geelong 186 good?

I'm predicting a thumping, but not record breaking unfortunately

It won't be record breaking, unfortunately, but I wouldn't be too confident if you've back Carlton at the line.

I found it sickly fascinating. Thrashings are boring but that game was something else.

I watched it all live at the ground :cry::cry:

Admittedly the 2nd half was mainly spent at the bar in Club Cats throwing empty pots at the TV.:drunk:
There are some advantages to living interstate and not being able to get to many games...

If Carlton were facing West Coast in Perth or Hawthorn right about now I reckon they could lose by 30+ goals.

The one mildly positive factor I can come up with for Carlton is that Sydney have just come out of an arm wrestle with the Hawks and it's been a relatively short turnaround for them to a Friday night game. And maybe Mick getting sacked will have a few Carlton players pull their finger out... ? maybe? Who knows.

I'm thinking Sydney could take their foot off the pedal and conserve some energy in the second half - and the only thing that Barker will ask of his players is effort tonight, even when the game is lost.

The margin is out to 76 points, but it's not like Sydney to crush sides.

I reckon the blues could get within 10 goals.

Pretty sure Theseventhhamster knew who it was but understood it's illegal to utter his name. Off to prison for you.
Sort of like a Candyman arrangement? Say his name in the mirror kind of deal? Kills you via clangers off the side of his boot to your head?
