Draft and free agency for the Davis Cup.
The ball slows down when it bounces - abolish the requirement for the ball to land in court to speed the game up, thus slowing it down.
Cameras on the ballkids' hats, mic up the players (volume down on Sharapova?).
Make Hawkeye low-def so you're still not sure whether the ball was in or not.
Add developing markets to Davis Cup (North Korea = untapped market), funnel large sums there to promote tennis until successful and guarantee profit.

On the bolded I would prefer a change interpretation of rules mid Tournament and deny that you have done so.

Also you have forgotten political themed rounds in the tournament. You know "Free Tibet" round. All players have to play in Buddhist robes designed by the Dalai himself.

Difference is that the NBA struggles for exposure in its own right so it isn't going to have much impact promoting the women's league as well

The women's football league has arguably the most powerful administration in Australian sport pushing it along with a small army of feminists

It will do just fine depending on the opinion of what's considered successful - it isn't ever going to get prime time FTA spots outside of finals or one off exhibition games like they had in the pre finals bye week

Probably something that doesn't get discussed enough.

There are different ways it can be deemed successful, and different objectives.

It obviously needs to be financially sustainable and of course lots of people would only consider Big Bashesque commercial growth as the only KPI. But you could also make a case for the women's league increasing the AFL's positive engagement with girls and women, which should in turn benefit the men's league (memberships, ratings, mums being more agreeable to their sons playing footy instead of soccer).

You can also look at public health outcomes like increased physical activity in adolescent girls and young women (big public health priority at the moment) as an indicator.

That's not even getting into the more social/cultural airy fairy objectives like self esteem for girls and women, diversity and inclusiveness, etc.

You're right that the league won't compete with prime time men's sports but I reckon it will be successful in a lot of ways.

There was also a lot for WC to gain by having a team and I'm pretty annoyed we didn't get the licence. Could have completed the ten year PR/cultural change and the timing couldn't have been better with Freo's mini meltdown over the off season

i was kinda joking but his recent ODI form has been somewhat average at best. Struggled early before a slendid 70 odd and then struggled again. Im a massive fan of both Marsh boy but i think mitch will have to play some good cricket to get back in again. I would also like to see him not picked for any test tours till he does well for WA on a consistent basis. He probably should be batting at 3 or 4 for WA as thats the only way his batting and technique will improve. With Voges and klinger as well as is bro in the side, it will be a bit hard for him to do that but its time Langer looks at moving them on as he does have a few young batters that need to be given a go at the top of the order.

I have been reading this forum on and off for far longer than I would like to admit but today I finally have a reason to emerge from the shadows and post. I wasn't sure where to head, so if there is an existing thread for this sort of thing, please feel free to point me in the right direction. Long story short, I finally have a chance to snap up membership from someone who is selling a seat, with a second seat coming available for purchase in a year or two. The catch is, it's not an amazing seat. Once I have my foot in the door, is it possible to apply for some sort of transfer of seats or will I be stuck in this position for good? I imagine also that when we move to the new stadium, the new seats will be like for like?

Would also like to say I appreciate the chaps with all the training updates and the occasionally insightful opinions that go around. I have to admit I'm even partial to the inane chatter that wafts in through the off season... anything for a footy fix.

Seems like a good investment for one season. The new stadium has no "bad" seats, and I believe there will be an option to pay a premium and select your seats at the new ground.

It was tongue in cheek comment but even if he fails the selectors will back him in after that performance cause of his potentially. It's a bit like backing the Marsh bros when they fail. Aussie selectors seem to reward and stick guys with talent/potential. Marsh needs to find form in the longer forms of the game first to be honest. I'm a bit pissed he got selected for India, he should instead be playing for WA and working on his batting. It's unlikely he will play in India at all.
